Today we bought lunch for 8 of our students and got to catch up with them on how their first week of classes have gone. We are grateful to everyone who contributes prayers, finances, and energy to keep this ministry a reality!

Kelsey told me this story and I wanted to relay it, this is why we're here and how your contributions help real students at OU.

One day last semester one of the girls showed up to pastries on a Wednesday overwhelmed. This student had missed her first class because she couldn’t find parking as well as she figured out that she had a flat tire. So our senior student Alexa and I encouraged her. I was able to follow her to her car and put her spare tire on so that she could get to the shop. I am so glad she had a community to surround her in this difficult and overwhelming moment. We were able to laugh about it the next week. One of the things I love about doing campus ministries is that we are able to show up in so many small ways for the students. We simply consistently show up in their lives with the kindness of Jesus in ordinary moments.

Last night we gathered over some pizza and caught up with several of our students. We talked about what their summers looked like, how their semesters are laying out, and just enjoying spending some time away from homework. Thank you to all our contributors who allow us to journey alongside students for their years at OU!
