Illinois State University and the Stevenson Center for Community and Economic Development has developed a short community survey to gather feedback from residents about their experiences with Comlara Park and their ideas for how the park can be improved in the future.
The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and will remain open until March 20, 2026. Go to the McLean County Parks and Recreation website:

It is the mission of the McLean County Department of Parks and Recreation to ensure adequate provision for high-quality regional parks and related outdoor recreational activities for all citizens of McLean County in the most cost-efficient manner.

A SPORTS ANALOGY THAT WORKS:
A long time ago, when I was playing, I was a participant in a game in which one of our coaches got thrown out. What he did was clearly a violation. It was clearly uncalled-for. It came unexpectedly and was a shocking embarrassment for the whole team. It killed our drive, and we had to give up the ball and play defense.
But even though our coach's ejection killed the drive, it did NOT end the game. Soon we had the ball back, empowered to play offense with a purposeful aggression. Furthermore, the loathsome act failed to end the program, and the overall mission withheld.
We have been knocked onto our heels (as we have been before, and surely will again) and we will receive strength (as we have before, and will again), because we know our God if faithful in all His promises. He will sustain us as He ALWAYS has and ALWAYS will. Take heart, as Jesus said, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” [John 16:33]

Reaching out to all Wittenberg Women from the past. The current women of Wittenberg would like to extend an invitation to you to attend our Galentine’s Gathering on Saturday, Feb 7th from 2-4pm. We celebrate Galentine’s together with a prayer exchange, short Bible Study or Devotion, fun snacks, and fellowship. This year we thought it would be fun to have some of the former students share their experiences during their time at Wittenberg and how they navigated the joys and challenges of college.
We would love to have you with us if you are able. Kendra Whittle (2007-2011) will be joining us and sharing a little about her new book titled “The Women Who Followed The Star” (I will have a few copies to give away😊).
While we LOVE children, this event doesn’t have a way to accommodate children (maybe a full reunion in the future❤️). Of course we will welcome nursing babies and if you have a teenage daughter who is interested please extend this invite.
In order to be prepared for this special day, we ask that you rsvp to Cindy at 217-836-5367 by Feb. 1st (you can call or text). Leave your name and years you were here at Wittenberg.
God’s continued blessings to you! Looking forward to sharing some hugs❤️
