Crum Elbow Rural Cemetery Association, Meeting House Preservation

Crum Elbow Rural Cemetery Association, Meeting House Preservation Friends of Crum Elbow Meeting House, Inc. is a not for profit 501c3. We're presently raising funds to historically preserve the Meeting House.

Crum Elbow Rural Cemetery and Meeting House is located on North Quaker Lane in east Hyde Park, New York, Dutchess County. It is in very good condition for a building of its age, according to a local contractor and architect. It is however, in need of some repairs such as the porch and privy being rebuilt. New roof and window repair are needed. Some floorboards need replacement also. A condition as

sessment was done in 2018 to determine the extent of other possible needed repairs.

**The Meeting House is owned by the Crum Elbow Rural Cemetery Association. Crum Elbow is on both the New York State and National Historic Registries and is not for profit 501c3.**

A Wreaths Across America ceremony is planned for December 13th, 2025 at Crum Elbow Cemetery.

In the past we had sponsors however this year we do not have enough so we are seeking donors for Crum Elbow Cemetery veterans gravesites. There are 64 graves and about half of the graves have sponsors so far.

If you wish to make a donation the cost is $17 per grave and checks my be sent to:

May 2024: Window preservation project.

When one window was recently removed it revealed the letters PAX hewn into the original beam frame. This part of the Meeting House is believed to have been constructed about 1797. PAX is Latin for Peace.
