My Mother’s Day Musings

Five babies. 100 nails to trim.
Five stomachs to fill. Five hearts to fill.

Some days I feel like I’m acing this thing called motherhood. Other days, I try to stay afloat.

Every day, the postpartum fog lifts a little more. My strength slowly comes back. I’m floating. I did it. I carried, birthed, and nurtured another soul. A whole world.

And then… I’m falling again.
Hashem?

And He hears me.

Sometimes He throws me a life vest. Sometimes a beautiful boat. Sometimes a whole cruise ship.

He sends guardian angels. I notice them only when I’m in a “Hashem” mindset, but they’re always there. A friend dropping off an old train set that buys me hours of peace with my toddler, just as I feel I might lose my mind (were they all this stubborn or do we forget?).

A babysitter who gives my daughter the listening ear she needs so badly at age seven. A warm text just as I question if the community work I do is worth all the energy it takes from me. “Would anyone notice if I left?”

And sometimes, literal angels. The kind I can’t see, but somehow I know are there.

Because caring for five babies isn’t something a mother does alone.

To all the mothers floating, sinking, swimming, praying, surviving… thinking about you.

And to all those waiting for their miracle you are in my heart and my quiet prayers. Always.
