“How good and how pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!” -Psalm 133

Today we welcomed our friends from for their annual Tikkun Olam, or “world repair” day of service with Trinity and ! An eager group of our neighbors came together to clean and beautify our worship space, prepare food for SAFH, and work in our beautiful garden.

And, for the first time ever, the day concluded with a Bar Mitzvah in our sanctuary, truly a beautiful moment of unity and hope in a world so full of division and fear.

The partnership between Trinity and The New Shul is long and rich, and we look forward to growing ever closer together!

Last night, members of Trinity were pleased to attend the annual Gala to End Hunger with Bread for the World . Bread for the World is a major presence in Washington, DC, mobilizing people of faith from across the country to press for policies at the governmental level to address poverty and food insecurity domestically and globally. With so many long-standing programs like SNAP and Food for Peace under continual threat, the advocacy work of Bread is as important as ever.

Bread for the World was founded in Trinity’s basement in 1975, when our then-pastor and Bread founder Rev. Art Simon began gathering concerned Christians together to imagine how our faith can motivate us to enact lasting and impactful policies to eliminate hunger. We’re honored to continue this legacy of working for justice into our own time!

This Sunday, April 26, at 12:30pm after worship, all are invited to gather in the sanctuary for Empower Hour, a gathering for the spiritual practice of activism! This will be the first of a series of Empower Hour gatherings for Vicar Nick’s internship project that will, from this point on, be held on first and third Sundays of each month through July.

Together, we’ll ground ourselves in a Christian spirituality of liberation connect with each other over a shared desire to be part of creating justice in our communities;
learn from each other about particular international, nationwide and local issues and about the practices of activism and community organizing; find ways to take action that fit for each of us given our unique schedules/lifestyles; get connected with local justice-oriented organizations; give ourselves accountability in community for working toward justice with this designated time and space.

If you’re looking to practice your spirituality in community care on any level, Empower Hour is for you!
