Welcome to Trinity, Vicar Wayne Olsen, our 2026-2027 Pastoral Intern! Vicar Wayne had his first day in the office with Pastor Will today as he begins his 12-month internship at Trinity. Read a bit about him below:

Wayne Edward Olsen is a lifelong Lutheran and New Jerseyan. As a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Ridgefield, he has served as Council President and Treasurer. Wayne is a longtime member of the New Jersey Synod Council. After working many years in the music industry, he retired for a month and then entered Wartburg Seminary in Iowa on their Master of Divinity program. Thanks to the Grace of God, he was able to visit the beautiful country of Bosnia-Hercegovina as a leader of the NJ Synod’s Servant program (six times!)
Wayne is married to Miguel Cobaleda. They live in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. Wayne loves the Yankees, the Beatles, ice cream, and gives thanks to God for all God’s many blessings.

Wayne is excited to be here with the people of Trinity Lower East Side!

Introducing the Churchyard Sessions, a series of performances in our garden this fall! Each performance highlights neighborhood talent sharing their gifts in the beautiful outdoor surroundings of Trinity’s churchyard. A $10 suggested donation supports the artists and our work in the community!

First up on Tuesday, September 8 at 7:00pm, singer-songwriter Jayne Sugg shares an unplugged set of her original compositions, which she describes as “soulful indie pop for seekers and skeptics”. Rooted in her own spiritual questions, her music is simply beautiful and is the perfect accompaniment to your own spiritual journey.

This Sunday we give thanks for the ministry of Vicar Nick Paulson-Moe as we celebrate his final Sunday with us as our Pastoral Intern. Vicar Nick has been such a blessing to us and our community over this past year, as we pray we’ve been a blessing to him!
