We are excited to announce that Rev. Lynn Hooks has accepted the Associate Rector and Day School Chaplain position at St. James.
Mother Lynn has served part-time at the Day School teaching religion and helping officiate chapel services since August 2021, where she quickly became a beloved member of the Day School community. If you have not met Mother Lynn, you have probably at least heard her name on Sunday mornings when we pray for our priests in the Prayers of the People. However, she has not been with us on Sunday because she currently serves as Priest-in-Charge for two congregations: St. Paul’s Holy Trinity in New Road and St. Mary’s in Morganza. Now, all her ministry attention and efforts will come to St. James full-time, and I could not be more excited.
Mother Lynn will wrap up her ministry at St. Paul’s Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s in the coming weeks. Then, she will enjoy a few weekends with no Sunday responsibility before beginning her full-time ministry at St. James on Sunday, March 24. However, she will continue her school duties throughout that entire time. Please be on the lookout for more details on how to help welcome Mother Lynn and her husband, Michael. In the interim, please keep Mother Lynn, her family, and her current congregations in your prayers as they prepare for this season of transition in ministry.
