FROM THE PASTOR'S HEART
Church Family,
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45
Service is not just something Christians do... it is part of who Christians are. Jesus did not merely teach about serving others; He modeled it. The King of Kings stooped to wash feet, touch lepers, and care for the overlooked. If we follow Him, we must walk the same path.
Service strengthens our faith because it moves us from merely hearing God's Word to living it. It changes our outlook by shifting our focus from our own problems to the needs of others. Often, when we are consumed with ourselves, discouragement and discontentment grows. But when we serve, our eyes are opened to God's work around us and our hearts are reminded of His blessings.
Service also produces joy. “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). There is a unique joy that comes from being used by God to encourage, help, and love others. The more we serve, the more we experience the heart of Christ.
A life centered on self becomes small, but a life given in service becomes fruitful. God often grows our faith, renews our perspective, and restores our joy through the simple act of serving others.
Prayer:
Lord, give me a servant's heart. Help me to follow the example of Jesus by loving and serving others. Use service to strengthen my faith, transform my perspective, and fill my heart with the joy that comes from living for Your glory. Amen.
All for Jesus,
Pastor Jeff
