Phillips was assigned to serve the church in November 2019, after having served as pastor of Greater Allen Chapel (Baton Rouge, LA), Mary Springhill (Shreveport,LA) Ebenezer ( Benton, MS) and Lewis Chapel (Buckatunna, MS) Dr. Phillips is a graduate of Wiley College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business he also earned his MDiv from Payne Theological Seminary and continued his academic career at Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology earning his doctorate degree in ministry. A pastoring career spanning over 20 years Dr. Phillips has dedicated his life to ministry and serves on many boards within the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Dr. Phillips mantra is “Love God, Love the People and Do the Work.”

Please join us in welcoming Michaela King, DO, to Ochsner Children's! 🩺⭐

Dr. King is a pediatrician at Ochsner Health Center – Lapalco in Marrero, Louisiana. She has expertise in preventive pediatric care, like well-visits and check-ups and community-based public health initiatives. Her clinical interests include health equity, immunization advocacy, infectious diseases, adolescent wellness and culturally responsive care.

Dr. King earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and completed her pediatric residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Outside of medicine, Dr. King is actively involved in community service through several different organizations. She enjoys traveling, reading and engaging in various arts and crafts activities. She also enjoys mentoring students pursuing careers in healthcare and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
