They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”
Revelation 17:14 ESV
There has been some uproar in recent days about calling Jesus, “King.” It has even been referred to as antisemitism. As those who are in Christ, we believe that Christ is not only Priest and Prophet, but King. The writer of the book of Hebrews calls Christ a priest on the lines of Melchizedek. Melchizedek was not only a priest in the area of Salem, but was king as well. Christ is King for He sets in the seat of majesty in heaven reigning over all of creation. He has authority over all things and all things were created for Him, by Him, and through Him. We are living in an era of such political correctness that we feel the need to co-opt Judaism as an equal with Christianity. Yes, Christ in His humanity was a Jew and He practiced it. However, He came to walk among us to bring us the new covenant of which we have been under since the Upper Room when He introduced it to His disciples. His death consecrated it and His resurrection confirmed it. A true believer only believes in one way and that is through Christ alone by grace alone through faith alone. He was the Prophet who finished the revelation of truth when He entered into creation. He is now our Great High Priest interceding for us with the Father in heaven. He is our Great Lord, Our King as He sets in authority and power over us. He will reveal this authority and power in great intensity when He returns to make all things right and conquer His last enemy-death. Upon Him will be written King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We must not fall for these false teachings about Christ. All hail to the King of Glory!!! Grace and peace to all. Thank you Jesus!!!

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Romans 12:1 ESV
Today is the Lord’s day and we should be preparing ourselves for worship as we clear our hearts and minds for church. Our focus today, all day, is the Lord. It’s not time for extra curricular activities or the like. This day is for worship and we are to present ourselves to the Lord in sacrifice. Church is not about us. It’s not about us assembling so we can boost our emotions and feelings. We are to worship in a manner that honors God. We are to worship in a manner that is orderly and reverent. We are to worship in spirit and in truth. Church is not a social club or just another thing to do on Sundays and Wednesdays. It’s a gathering of the body of Christ for His purpose and His glory. It’s where we encourage one another and not be divisive and disruptive. It’s where we fellowship in love not anger or hate. Church is not an entertainment venue where performance is the standard. Our worship is one of awe for God and one where we humble ourselves before Him. God provided us the means of grace and we are to use them with His wisdom not what we believe is best for us. Church attendance by no means saves us, but it does reveal what one’s heart feels about the body of Christ. Worship is not only corporate, but personal as well. It too is not about us or our feelings and emotions. It too is a sacrifice of ourselves to the Lord for Him and only Him for He alone is worthy of it all. So, are you coming to church today? What excuse is keeping you away? Doesn’t matter. We’ve heard them all. Christ loves His church and desires they be together as His body. Assemble for Him in worship today. Grace and peace to all. Thank you Jesus!!!

Good Evening Everyone.

I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.
Psalm 7:17 ESV
Worship is where we sacrifice ourselves freely in submission to the love and power of God. Modern worship has become entertainment where one goes to church for an emotional uplifting and an emoting of feelings. The setting is made to be for the worshipper not the One being worshipped. See, it is not for us. It’s not about us. Worship is alone for God for He alone is worthy of being worshipped. In doing so, we give thanks due His perfect holiness not what we bring to the table. We sing praises to Him raising His name above all other names. We worship in truth and in Spirit. God is always the only one who is glorified. We worship because we love Him and He requires it of us. We worship because He alone deserves all praise and all honor. We never worship with a sense of being forced, but one where we do it gladly and joyfully. It is an outpouring of our desire that is first and foremost for Christ. We live in a continuous state of gratefulness for all that He is, all that He did, and all that He is yet to be. Praise Him for His greatness! Praise Him for His goodness! Grace and peace to all. Thank you Jesus!!!

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
1 Corinthians 15:25-26 ESV
Christ sets upon the mercy seat awaiting His glorious return to face and defeat the last enemy-death. Death is the consequence of original sin. In the Garden of Eden before sin, life was proclaimed to be everlasting. Then sin entered in and that came to a bitter end. However, someday Christ will return to set everything right and death will be no more. Everlasting life will be restored. Today, we see in some parts of the world where euthanasia is considered even for some who suffer from depression as a dignified way to die. My friends, there is no dignity in death. We have our dignity in life and more so a life in Christ. Now, for those in Christ, we know that our true self is the soul and when the body fails in death, our being goes to be with the Lord. Someday, our corrupt flesh will be resurrected to be with our soul once again where we are made anew in a glorified body. This was suppose to be how it was all along from the beginning. Again, one man corrupted it all when he chose pride over obedience allowing sin to be ushered into humanity. The great news is that in the final state we not only will have everlasting life without death, but sin will be eradicated forever. Until then, death will be part of our existence. We have no say about it. We have no way to prevent it. We don’t know when it may come to ourselves or someone we love. What we do know is that God is sovereign over all that occurs and His providence governs every event. We are comforted by the truth that everything that happens is for God’s glory and our good. So, even in death, good is realized. Brining it on and enjoying it has no part in what we consider dignity. Living with it, understanding, and looking to God in it is where we can come to resolution about it. So, live each day as if it is your last for it’s life where God wants us to thrive. It’s each day that comes where we live for Him. Grace and peace to all. Thank you Jesus!!!

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.
Psalm 119:71 ESV
Suffering is something God allows in the life of His children. He does it for discipline and corrections. He does it so that one may grow in maturity. He does it so that one may move further from self and closer to Himself. On a personal note, I have had more painful events in my life since becoming a child of God than when I was a child of wrath. It has molded me into being someone more Christlike. Once I didn’t care about the things of God, but now I cherish them. Suffering is part of maturing in our walk of faith. We don’t seek out suffering for suffering sake. However, it will come through the natural cause of life itself. God’s providence governs these things. When it does come, we must face it humbly by casting our cares to God. He is the source of our strength. Our mistake is lifting our burdens higher than the treasure of Christ. So often we fall into self loathing and pity over what has befallen us. Our suffering isn’t supposed to even be compared to the riches that await us in glory in Christ Jesus. We are blessed beyond what we deserve through God’s love, mercy, and grace. Yet, we take it for granted at times as we wallow in our hurt and pain. Yes, it is natural in our humanity to feel sorry for our pain, but we must look to the Lord first and foremost in all that happens in our lives. God is good in the midst of the storm as well as the calm. God blesses us with the raindrops just as He does with the sunshine. He is good all the time no matter what. All is done for the good of those who love Him according to His purpose. We are not defined by our deformity, our disease, or our injury. We are not defined by our fame, our status, or our possessions. We have life and are defined by the image of the One who died for us, Jesus Christ. Grace and peace to all. Thank you Jesus!!!
