⚠️ LOVE CANNOT BE FAKED. ⚠️

It can be imitated for a season.
Performed.
Spoken about.
Preached.

But real love is evidence of spiritual maturity.

Paul said:
📖 “When I became a man, I put away childish things.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:11

And in the same chapter he says:
📖 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face…”
— 1 Corinthians 13:12

Paul understood something powerful:

Gifts are important…
but maturity is greater.

Tongues will cease.
Prophecy will pass away.
Knowledge is partial.

But:
📖 “Now abideth faith, hope, charity [love], these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:13

Why?

Because love reflects the heart of God.

Not emotional weakness.
Not passive tolerance.
Not pretending evil is good.

Biblical love is holy.
Pure.
Patient.
Truthful.
Self-controlled.

Galatians says:
📖 “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance…”
— Galatians 5:22-23

Notice love comes first.

The rest flows from it.

The closer we grow to Christ…
the more His nature should grow in us.

And Revelation says:
📖 “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
— Revelation 19:10

Real revelation should lead people toward Jesus…
and Jesus is love in action.

Love is not weakness.
It is the reason for strength.

Love casts out fear.
Love gives sacrifice meaning.
Love gives power purpose.
Love gives truth compassion.
Love is what moved Christ to save us.

Paul said he had not yet attained perfection, but continued pressing forward toward the high calling of God.

That means maturity in love is a journey.

We grow into it.

Less ego.
Less pride.
Less self-centeredness.

More Christ.

Real spiritual maturity is not just power, gifting, or knowledge.

It is becoming more like Jesus.

And Jesus loved completely.

⚠️ IF WE DO NOT LOVE…
WE MAY NOT SEE GOD CLEARLY. ⚠️

This is not meant to condemn people.

It’s meant to reveal something.

Scripture says:
📖 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”
— 1 John 4:8

And John also says:
📖 “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.”
— 1 John 2:9

That’s not God trying to crush us.

That’s God giving us an indicator light.

A mirror.

A warning sign that maybe our picture of Him has become distorted.

Because you can know verses…
and still not know His heart.

You can talk spiritual…
and still carry bitterness, pride, cruelty, envy, and hatred.

Paul said:
📖 “When I was a child, I spake as a child… but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:11

Maturity in Christ is not just knowledge.

It’s growing in love.

But love is not weakness either.

Love forgives…
but it does not celebrate evil.

Love turns the other cheek…
but it still confronts darkness.

Love has grace…
but it also has truth.

Jesus loved sinners deeply…
and still told people:
“Go and sin no more.”

Biblical love is not passive.
It is courageous enough to tell the truth without hatred.

Real love:

- prays for enemies
- corrects with humility
- refuses revenge
- refuses bitterness
- refuses cruelty
- refuses pride

Love is not pretending evil is good.

Love is carrying the heart of God while dealing with brokenness.

The more we know God…
the more we should begin to look like Him.

And God is love.

⚠️ ARE WE DOING GOOD…
OR JUST TRYING TO FEEL GOOD? ⚠️

Helping people feels good.

Serving feels good.
Sacrifice feels meaningful.
Being “needed” can even become addictive.

But sometimes what we call love…
is really identity.

Some people help because they genuinely love others.

Others help because:

- they need validation
- they fear rejection
- they want purpose
- they want to feel valuable
- they need to be seen as “good”

And eventually they burn themselves out trying to save everybody…
while neglecting their own soul.

That’s not healthy love.
That’s empty sacrifice.

Paul said:
📖 “And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor… and have not love, it profiteth me nothing.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:3

Did you catch that?

A person can literally give everything away…
and STILL not be operating in love.

Because love is not a trophy.
Love is not a personality brand.
Love is not a way to earn worth.

Jesus already made you worthy.

Real love flows FROM identity in Christ…
not FOR identity.

Sometimes love looks like sacrifice.

Sometimes love looks like boundaries.
Rest.
Wisdom.
Saying no.
Telling the truth.
Helping in healthy ways.

Love is not about being worshipped as the helper.

Love is simply love.

⚠️ MINISTRY WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT MONEY. ⚠️

But let’s be clear…

There is nothing wrong with a minister prospering.
Nothing wrong with wealth.
Nothing wrong with generosity, tithing, or giving.

Scripture says the worker is worthy of his wages.

The problem starts when money becomes the reason we serve.

Some people won’t pray unless there’s a platform.
Won’t help unless there’s a check.
Won’t minister unless there’s promotion attached to it.

But faithfulness is what opens heaven’s doors.

The Kingdom was built by people who served when nobody was watching.
People who loved others even when there was no applause.
People who obeyed God before there was income attached to it.

Ministry is not a hustle.
It’s a calling.

Yes, God can bless financially.
Yes, provision matters.
Yes, giving matters.

But LOVE must stay at the center.

Because if money becomes the mission…
people eventually become merchandise.

Jesus didn’t die to build brands.
He died to restore people.

📖 “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil…”
— 1 Timothy 6:10

📖 “And though I have all faith… and have not love, I am nothing.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:2

That’s the warning Paul gives in 1 Corinthians 13.

You can preach.
Lead.
Build.
Know scripture.
Move crowds.
Even operate in spiritual gifts…

…and still be NOTHING without love.

This generation is obsessed with platform, influence, arguments, and performance.

But Jesus said the greatest commandment was love.

Not hype.
Not image.
Not noise.

LOVE.

This new Blue Gorilla Lounge Bible series is going to challenge us to ask a hard question:

Are we becoming more like Jesus…
or just becoming louder?

Something else this season is revealing…

People are searching for clarity.

In relationships.
In identity.
In purpose.

And a lot of times, they’re finding answers
after things fall apart.

But what if clarity came first?

What if people were shown:
What strong relationships look like
What healthy identity looks like
What real purpose feels like

Before the damage happens?

Because truth isn’t meant to be rediscovered through pain.

It’s meant to be taught clearly.

Not harshly.
Not forcefully.
But clearly enough to build a life on.

Maybe part of rebuilding our community
isn’t just fixing what broke—

It’s helping people build in a way
that doesn’t collapse in the first place.
