Greetings Religious Ed Families!
As we prepare our hearts for Holy Week, I’d like to offer a gentle and prayerful reminder of the sacred days ahead.
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, the final Sunday of Lent, when we remember our Lord Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. With blessed palms in hand, we join the crowds who welcomed Him with joy—yet we also stand at the threshold of a deeper mystery, one that will unfold in the days to come.
As the week progresses, we are drawn toward the summit of the Liturgical Year: the Easter Triduum. From the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday, the Church celebrates what is, though three days in time, one single, unified liturgy. In these sacred moments, we are invited to enter more fully into the Paschal Mystery—the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ.
The Triduum includes three profound liturgical celebrations:
* the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, where we remember the gift of the Eucharist and Christ’s call to serve in love
* the solemn liturgy of Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion, where we stand at the foot of the Cross and reflect on the depth of Christ’s sacrifice
* and the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil, where darkness gives way to light, and death to new life
Together, these celebrations bring the Lenten season to its fulfillment and open for us the joy of Easter.
If you have never fully experienced the Triduum, I warmly invite you this year to enter in. Come to church and walk with the Lord through these sacred days—through His passion, His sacrifice, and ultimately into the radiant joy of His resurrection. In doing so, we encounter not only the story of our salvation, but the living love He pours out for each one of us and for the whole world.
May this Holy Week be a time of grace, reflection, and deep renewal for you and your loved ones.
Your sister in Christ,
Kelly
