Our sister in Christ, Delores Hoffman, joined the Church Triumphant on Wednesday, August 12. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Emanuel with Pastor Stecker officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior. Burial will follow in Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery, New Haven. We pray for the family of Delores in the hope of the Resurrection.

Our brother in Christ, Victor Echartea, joined the Church Triumphant on August 1. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Pastor Zeckzer officiating. Burial will take place at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
We pray for Victor's family in the hope of the Resurrection.

Our sister in Christ, Elna Szink, joined the Church Triumphant on August 4. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8 at Emanuel. Burial was in Emanuel's cemetery. Pastor Zeckzer presided.
We pray for Elna's family in the hope of the resurrection of the dead.

Pastor and Andrea Hoover worshipped with the saints at Christus Victor, Roma on Saturday, July 18. Christus Victor, which started in 2022, is the only confessional Lutheran Church in Rome. Before the service, Pastor Joshua Salas was presented with gifts from Emanuel's VBS program, including an offering collected by the children of $1,325. These gifts can be used to purchase worship materials in Italian. They currently have prototypes of a hymnal and liturgy settings that will soon be bound into a book used for regular worship.

It was a blessing for Pastor and Andrea to worship at Christus Victor (in Italian) and to hear a wonderful sermon by Pastor Salas (first in Italian and then in English) based on Romans 6. The congregation was reminded that wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life!

LYFE arrived safely in St. Louis! We're enjoying a few local attractions before the Higher Things Conference begins on Tuesday. Prayers appreciated as we prepare for a great week of growing together in Christ!

We had an incredible week at VBS with 138 children in attendance and over 80 volunteers making it all possible! The theme this year was Rome: Paul & the Underground Church. We learned about the early church and how God's love is a gift. He sent Jesus to save us, and He is always with us. Together, we collected $1,330 for Christus Victor, Roma (Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Rome, Italy)! Thank you, Emanuel, for your generous support and to everyone who helped make this successful week of outreach, faith-building, and fun one of the highlights of our summer!
