Ever had a wide-open door right in front of you, yet felt the urge to walk away?

In 2 Corinthians 2:13, the apostle Paul faced this exact moment in Troas. A door was wide open for the Gospel: a perfect "platform" for ministry. Yet, Paul tells us, "I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother."

Think about that: the world’s greatest missionary walked away from a thriving opportunity because he prioritized his brother. He chose the person over the platform.

In our culture of metrics and constant "doing," it’s easy to treat people like projects or obstacles on the way to our goals. But the Kingdom of God isn't built on platforms; it's built on deep, sacrificial relationships.

Is there a "Titus" in your life you’ve been bypassing for the sake of a "Troas"? This week, let’s challenge ourselves to prioritize the heart over the hustle.

We’d love for you to join our church family this Sunday at 10 AM as we continue exploring what it means to live for Christ in community.

See you there!

Just because a door is open doesn't mean you're meant to walk through it: or stay there.

In 2 Corinthians 2:12-13, the Apostle Paul arrived in Troas to preach the gospel, and he notes that "a door was opened unto me of the Lord." By every modern metric, this was a green light. A successful ministry opportunity was waiting. Yet, Paul writes that he had "no rest in my spirit" because his brother Titus wasn't there. So, he walked away from an open door to follow a burden for a person.

This is the 'Open Door' Paradox. We often mistake opportunity for obligation. We think that if the circumstances are right, we must take the path. But Paul teaches us that the Holy Spirit’s peace and our commitment to one another are more important than mere "success" or platforms. Sometimes, God opens a door to test our discernment: to see if we will prioritize the brother over the building, the relationship over the result.

Are you pushing through a door just because it’s open, even though your spirit feels unsettled? Success isn't walking through every door; it's following the Spirit's peace.

Are you caught in the "letter" of your daily life? Whether it’s a workplace dispute or a personal misunderstanding, it’s easy to focus solely on who is "right" by the book. But 2 Corinthians 3:6 reminds us: the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Moving beyond rigid legalism into the transformative power of the Holy Spirit changes everything. Instead of using secular tactics to solve problems, we lean into love, forgiveness, and the wisdom of God’s Word.

At New Vision Ministries, we are more than just a church: we are a training ground. We equip you to live by the Spirit so you can navigate life's challenges with a peace that surpasses understanding.

Ready to dig deeper? Join us for Bible Study this Wednesday at 6 PM. Let’s learn together how to walk in the Spirit and live out our faith in every area of our lives.

We look forward to seeing you there!

When we see our community come together for the "Stamp Out Hunger" drive here in New Bern, we are witnessing a beautiful act of reconciliation. We are acknowledging a physical need: a hunger "debt": and working together to settle it for our neighbors. But have you ever paused to consider the deeper ledger of our lives?

In the spiritual realm, we all faced a debt that was impossible for us to reconcile on our own. Just as a family might struggle when the shelves are empty and the bills are high, our spirits were once bankrupted by sin. We owed a price we could not pay. Yet, through the Cross, Jesus Christ stepped in as our ultimate benefactor. He didn't just provide a temporary meal; He settled the entire account, once and for all.

Colossians 2:14 tells us He "canceled the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands." This is the heart of our mission at New Vision Ministries. We serve because we have been served. We give because we have received.

Are you carrying a weight that feels too heavy to balance? Join us this Sunday at 10 AM as we explore what it means to live in the freedom of a debt already paid. We’d love to see you there.

Have you ever stopped to consider what you "smell" like to the world around you?

In 2 Corinthians 2:14, we are given a powerful image of our role as believers: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere." (NIV)

When we talk about New Vision Ministries being a training ground, we don’t just mean for the time we spend together in the pews. The real training happens when you walk out those doors. Whether you are navigating the aisles of the grocery store here in New Bern, sitting at your office desk, or gathering around the kitchen table, you carry the presence of Christ with you.

You are His fragrance.

Are we leaving behind the scent of peace, love, and reconciliation? Our everyday spaces are the primary places where the world encounters the Gospel through us. Let’s encourage one another to see every interaction as an opportunity to spread the knowledge of Him.

Join us this Wednesday at 6 PM for our Mid-week Bible Study as we continue to grow together in the Word. We’ll dive deeper into how we can better represent the Body of Christ in our community.
