"Lord Lift Me Higher”

Psalm 28:7

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

What a joy it is to know that we serve a God with unlimited power who is always present and willing to do the amazing! All we have to do is make the request. A father and son went to the fair for a day of fun. As they approached the entertainment stage the son could not see the performances because of his size. The son requested to be picked up by his father. The father lifted him up to his waist and then to his chest but he still couldn’t see. The son finally said, “dad if you let me stand on your shoulders, I believe I will be alright.” He lifted him up and the son shouted “I can see everything now!” God is waiting on your request. In order to transition to the best position for your life, ask God to lift you higher! No matter how big the challenge or complex the situation, just say Lord lift me higher! No matter how how tremendous the moment, just say Lord lift me higher!

When God lifts you higher:

1. The unreachable becomes attainable!

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Ephesians 6:10

2. Your attitude about each situation in your life is met with optimism!

“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”
1 Chronicles 16:11-12

3. Your doubts and fears are removed!

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31

Start today:

(A) To have unlimited trust that God would guide you to your destiny.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11

(B) To focus on each new challenge as an opportunity for God to do something special in your life.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:13

(C) To partner with God and plan your next big dream regardless of your season in life.

“In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.”
Psalms 18:29-30

Prayer: Lord thank you for the privilege of the lifting up experience when we reach out to you.

“Keep Stepping
Forward”

Psalm 37:23

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: And he delighteth in his way.”

As Christians life can provide some unexpected twists and turns. In some cases, we might feel overwhelmed, but we must keep stepping forward. “Born in Chicago, she got her start by singing with the church choir and doing community theater with the help of her late maternal grandmother, Julia.”
The world first heard her gift on American Idol. It was one of the most unique in America. Her potential was enormous. Then, tragedy struck her family. A major loss was now a part of her journey. Rather than retreat, she decided to keep stepping forward and reach for the sky. Jennifer Kate Hudson has become one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. She is the recipient now of all four major American entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. (EGOT) Hudson has soared in the theater, television, music and film. Most recently, her project, “The Jennifer Hudson Show” is award winning, and experiencing tremendous success. Jennifer Hudson is one of one! When we persevere and keep stepping forward God can do the amazing!

When you keep stepping forward:

1. You never allow a life disappointment to determine your destiny!

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

2. You get up each day with excitement about the possibilities!

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
Psalms 27:14

3. You focus all your energy and effort on the future!

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”
Psalms 20:7

Start today:

(A) To expect the next step of your journey to be unforgettable.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Philippians 4:13

(B) To witness to your circle of believers about the goodness of the Lord on the journey.

“For the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.”
Proverbs 3:26

(C) To celebrate your future right now with great expectations.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13

Prayer: Thank you Lord for always being in control and reminding us that you have us covered.

“Time To Take A
Minute And Exhale”

Psalms 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

As Christians the fast pace of our daily lives can create an abundance of stress. We must learn to exhale along the journey. A few years ago on Spring Break in Arizona we booked our first family ballon ride. We had to get ready before day in order to be transported to the staging location. Although I agreed to enjoy the balloon ride, I was quite concerned about the the pilot and his experience. I needed to know who trained him! When we boarded the balloon we were assigned tiny slots to stand. We were then informed that the pilot was trained, licensed, and had had many years of flight experience. “You can exhale and enjoy the ride, you are in good hands” was the last statement we heard as we ascended into the air. After I exhaled, the balloon ride across town was amazing! We too should take a minute to exhale. Our God has impeccable credentials and has a track record of taking care of his people throughout history. Ask Moses at the Red Sea. Ask Daniel in the lion’s den. Ask Noah after he built the Ark. It’s time for you to take a min and exhale. God will take care of you too!!

When we exhale:

We are able to trust God unconditionally!

“No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”
1 Samuel 2:2

We are able to release ourselves from the cares of the moment!

“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
Matthew 11:29

We are able to refocus our attention to where God is guiding us!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

Start today:

(A) To find time to exhale often.

“Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.”
Mark 6:31

(B) To find time to praise God for the many victories you have experienced.

“The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17

(C) To encourage another believer to take take time to exhale.

“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”
1 Chronicles 16:11-12

Prayer: Lord we thank for covering and keeping us during those moments when we need to exhale.

“God Is Able”

Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

As Christians we set goals and create visions of success on our journey. We must give our best effort each day and trust God to carry us higher. He grew up in Riverside California as the oldest of five children. His nickname Dusty came from his mother because of “his propensity for playing in a dirt spot in the backyard”. He loved playing sports and was good at baseball. There was a moment in life as a teenager that he wanted to quit and throw newspapers, but his father said no and encouraged him to keep playing. It is a good thing that he listened to his father. Johnnie B. “Dusty” Baker Jr. has distinguished himself as a legend in Major League Baseball history. His accomplishments include “19 seasons as a player, a two-time All-Star, won two Silver Slugger Awards ,a Gold Glove Award, and became the first NLCS MVP, which he received during the 1977 National League Championship Series. He also made three World Series appearances, winning one in 1981. He was the first manager in major league history to lead five different teams to division titles, Twelfth manager and first African American manager with 2,000 victories”. In 2022 with the Houston Astros, Dusty Baker became the oldest manager to appear in, and win the World Series at age 73. God is able to exceed our expectations and take us higher than we can imagine!

When we proclaim God is Able:

1. We acknowledge that we are children of a loving heavenly father!

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:26 ml

2. We are reflecting our position in the body of Christ!

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us:
II Corinthians 5:20

3. We are celebrating our belief that God hears our prayers!

“And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.”
I Samuel 2:1-2

Start today:

(A) To ask God to enlarge your territory.

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”
I Chronicles 4:10

(B) To trust God in every phase of your life to make a difference.

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”
Psalms 20:7

(C) To encourage another believer to get excited about the next step on their journey with Jesus.

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:6

Prayer: Thank you Lord that all we have to do is ask you to take us higher and trust that you are able to grant our request.
