Yesterday, we began a series on our denominational history and the spark that moves us forward now. It's based on a couple of outstanding new books: "Wesleyan Vile-tality: Reclaiming the Heart of Methodist Identity" by Ashley Boggan, "Calling on Fire: Reclaiming the Method of Methodism" and "Building Beloved Community: the Courage to Love in the Face of Tyranny" by the Bishops. And we love Wesley Bros for nailing our history and our current context.

The 2026 Annual Conference Session of the New England Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church will be live-streamed on our official YouTube Channel.
Members, churches, friends, and ministry partners who may not be able to attend in person are invited to join us virtually for worship services, plenary sessions, reports, inspiring messages, and other important moments throughout the Conference Session taking place June 4–6, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Under the theme, “Faith for Our Future, Loving Boldly,” this year’s Annual Conference will gather clergy and lay members from across New England for a sacred time of worship, prayer, discernment, holy conferencing, fellowship, and decision-making for the mission and ministry of The United Methodist Church.

Food for thought and our shared reflection given that we just discussed the Tower of Babel story last Sunday on the dangers of putting building something above the human toll to create such a thing. Beware of exploitative systems that promise the world.

The work on the June "Calling on Fire" worship series and class over begins with John Wesley bobblehead supervising . . . And in the distance a mother fox and her kit wander by and two deer are enjoying a breakfast on retreat center trees. There's a chorus of steady rain and a Northern Yellow Warbler and House Finch are having a conversation and a red-winged blackbird and rooster interject periodically.
