Paddle tire review pt. 1 (3d printed, from sweet3dprintz) on Ebay.

I ordered these 3d printed paddle tires from ebay a few weeks ago. Shipping was fairly quick and the price was right around $35 shipped. I know of a different seller of 3d printed paddles, but they start, price wise at around twice the money. And to be honest, I'm not a believer just yet...I've seen them run, but I'm still convinced, let's put it that way.

Well, several days later, these showed up. Again, being honest, the paddle "tire" portion of the print looked great. The "rim" portion on the other hand...horrible. I looked them over and decided to give it a go and see what happens...I ran them on a 2wd Slash that I had and I was actually impressed with the amount of traction that I had. It was quick...but it wasn't fast (iykyk). I geared up and down...again, quick, but not fast...I geared way up (bigger pinion/ smaller spur) and I think I hit my limit with gearing...going faster will require an esc/motor upgrade...part 2 in a few days.

A lot going on this past month and the projects are on a short hold. I have still been working on them, but just a little at a time. Race season here has started and the local club had a race master quit the day before the season opener. I stepped in to fill the roll and that has been where my time has gone so far.

I have taken over the sand drag portion of our club and am currently trying to get some sponsorships for that going. I have a few ideas floating around also to raise awareness and hopefully gain a few more participants. We shall see how that goes. Wish me luck!

Racing season has begun. Offroad, oval and sand drags...this year has started off a little odd as our local rc club had its pace master up and quit the day before the sand drags officially started. I volunteered to step up and run the program this season.

My first race as the race master seemed to go okay, but I do need to change a few things and tweak the program. Not to mention I still have work (projects) of my own that I want to complete. I will try to be active here and still share rc things, but no guarantees. We shall see how this summer goes. In the meantime, here is a pic of my wife's rustler, complete with a new body for this season.

Project Rustler update.

Step 3. Collect your new parts (except the front bulk head that I forgot about).

Racing starts in about a week and I have tested nothing. I still have cars that I plan to run, disassembled. That's the usual.

Rustler project update: step one, aquire rustler. Step two: dismantle rustler.

I have this JConcepts Power Master body laying around. Do I paint it up fancy like or do I make it look like it's been in a field for 50 years?

Let me know what you think in the comments.
