As we come to the end of the year, I feel led to share a part of my testimony that most of you don't know—a moment from about 12 years ago that forever shaped the direction of my life and ministry.
For as long as I can remember, it has been the desire of my heart to "impact as many people for Jesus as possible". Keep that phrase in mind; it will matter as this story unfolds.
Back in 2013, when I began training for mass crusade evangelism, I was asked a question by my mentor that stopped me in my tracks: “Do you see yourself more like a Todd White or Reinhard Bonnke?”
At the time, I honestly felt much more like Todd White—who is a powerful and well-known street evangelist. I had never preached the gospel to millions of people like Reinhard Bonnke, and the one or two times I spoke in front of even 50 people, it was horrible and no one got saved. But I was bold in one-on-one evangelism. I shared Jesus everywhere I went—at gas stations, grocery stores, Walmart, wherever I found myself.
About a year later, the Lord asked me a similar question as my mentor, but this time it was with a familiar phase: “Who would impact more people over a 40-year period—Reinhard Bonnke or Todd White?”
At this time Reinhard Bonnke had just celebrated 40 years of ministry and had led over 75 million people to Jesus. The answer was obvious, so I said, “Reinhard would.”
What the Lord spoke next is still deeply emotional for me—even now, as I write this, I am getting teary-eyed. The Lord said: “Then do what Reinhard does.”
In that moment, I knew without a doubt that God was calling me to mass crusade evangelism—not as a side project, not for a season, but as a full-time calling for my entire life.
Not long after that encounter, I was invited by a church to speak. For the first time ever, a church paid for my airline ticket, hotel, and honorarium specifically for me to come and preach at a 2 day "revival". What made this even more remarkable is that this speaking engagement fell on the very same day a few friends and I were scheduled to have lunch with Reinhard Bonnke. That lunch had originally been scheduled for a couple of weeks earlier but ended up being rescheduled to the exact day of my first real speaking engagement.
I didn’t want to miss that lunch with one of the greatest evangelists in history, so I changed my flight so I could have lunch with Reinhard and still make my speaking engagement that evening. Before the meal ended, I told Reinhard that I was heading to my very first speaking engagement and asked if he would pray for me. He graciously did. That day, both Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda laid hands on me and prayed—just hours before my very first speaking engagement ever. That is the picture you see above. I have never before shared this picture on any social media platform or email. It is a very special and personal picture to me.
Mass crusade evangelism is not just a hobby for me. It’s not something I’m doing for a few years, and it’s certainly not about pictures, recognition, or attention. I do this because the Lord Himself commissioned me to do it. My heart’s desire is simple: "to impact as many people for Jesus as possible."
Reinhard Bonnke often shared that in the early years of his African ministry, God challenged him to pray a prayer he had never prayed before—to ask for one million dollars to fund mass gospel crusades. At the time, the request felt impossible and even uncomfortable, as he had no major financial backers and had never seen anything close to that amount of money. Yet he sensed God stretching his faith, not for personal gain, but for the salvation of multitudes. In obedience, Reinhard prayed boldly and specifically, trusting God with the outcome. Over time, the provision came through a series of unexpected and sacrificial gifts, enabling large-scale evangelistic crusades across Africa and reinforcing Reinhard's lifelong conviction that God funds what He initiates. These funds enabled him to do what he was called to do.
Over the past few months, I have felt the Lord leading me to pray the same prayer Reinhard prayed—for one-million-dollars, a supernatural provision that would allow the gospel to go forth without limitation. I want to be honest: I have never prayed a prayer like this in my entire life, but I truly feel this is the Lord’s leading.
I have never raised one million dollars in a single year—but I am believing God for it.
I know what some of you may be thinking: “David, have you become a prosperity preacher asking for big donations for personal gain?” Absolutely not. Would I take any of this money for myself? Honestly, I would consider a SMALL raise to help with our family monthly bills so things are not so tight in our household—but only with the approval of my board of directors. My desire is not personal gain, my heart for these funds is to see the gospel preached and countless lives reached for Jesus. Money is simply a tool that enables the gospel to go forth.
If you feel led to partner with us by making an end-of-the-year donation to help make our 2026 crusades possible, I would be deeply grateful. We have the ability to do 7 crusades next year if all the funding comes in. Our first crusade of 2026 is the first week of February, followed by crusades in March and April. We have an urgent need of $40,000 for these upcoming crusades. Every gift helps us bring the gospel to the masses and see lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for standing with us, praying for us, and believing in the call God has placed on this ministry.
With gratitude and faith,
David Ursin
