Mount Gilead Church of Christ

Mount Gilead Church of Christ A family of believers in Mt Gilead and the surrounding area that is growing closer to God and to each other. The year was 1963.

The Mt Gilead Church of Christ began when a small group of believers gathered together with passion to start a Church of Christ within the village of Mt Gilead. They began meeting in the local Grange hall, but soon began holding services in the Seniors on Center building. The church hired its first full-time minister, Dale Snell in 1963 who ministered with the church for twenty-eight years until his retirement.

This Sunday, we continue our THRIVE: Words from Proverbs series with a message titled “Navigating God’s Way” from Proverbs 3:5–16.

Life is full of choices, turns, and moments when we’re not sure which way to go. Proverbs reminds us that the best path is not always the one we understand first — it is the one we trust God to lead us through.

When we trust Him with all our heart, seek His wisdom, and submit our ways to Him, He helps us walk with direction, confidence, and purpose.

Join us this Sunday as we learn what it means to navigate life God’s way.

As Doug and Chris reminded us yesterday, we’re spending August in the book of Proverbs — just one chapter a day. It’s a simple challenge, but what a great way to fill our days with God’s wisdom.

And as you read, we’d love for you to join in on something fun in the sanctuary! When a Proverb really speaks to you, write it on a sticky note and add it to the wall. Let’s watch that space fill up throughout the month with verses that have encouraged, challenged, and spoken to each of us.

31 chapters. 31 days. Lots of wisdom to share. We can’t wait to see which Proverbs stand out to you!
