Mount Gilead Church of Christ

Mount Gilead Church of Christ A family of believers in Mt Gilead and the surrounding area that is growing closer to God and to each other. The year was 1963.

The Mt Gilead Church of Christ began when a small group of believers gathered together with passion to start a Church of Christ within the village of Mt Gilead. They began meeting in the local Grange hall, but soon began holding services in the Seniors on Center building. The church hired its first full-time minister, Dale Snell in 1963 who ministered with the church for twenty-eight years until his retirement.

Sunday, Pastor Doug will introduce our new sermon series, THRIVE. Our first sermon, Seeking Wisdom, is based on Psalm 92:12.

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree; they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.”

God does not call us merely to survive difficult seasons. He calls us to flourish, to remain rooted and grow stronger.

This image of a palm tree reminds us that it bends in strong winds but does not easily break. The cedar tree grows tall, strong, and deeply rooted, reminding us that a thriving faith is both resilient and firmly established.

Plan to join us on Sunday, June 28th, at 8:45 or 10:30 AM. All are welcome. Facebook live during our 10:30 service.

Tomorrow, our sermon, “Heroes, Legends, and Legacies," is reflected in this mini-movie and is appropriate for Father's Day weekend.

Every father leaves a legacy—but the kind of legacy he leaves is shaped by the choices he makes today. Heroes inspire us. Legends are remembered. But a godly legacy can influence generations long after we are gone.

Heroes inspire us. Legends leave their mark. Legacies continue long after life is over. Join us Sunday as we consider the legacy we are building and the faith we are passing on to those who follow.

We’re continuing our On Course sermon series with a message titled “Living Generously” from Mark 12:41–44.

In this passage, Jesus notices a widow who gives two small coins—an offering that may have seemed insignificant to others, but was deeply meaningful to God. While others gave out of their abundance, she gave with a heart of trust, sacrifice, and wholehearted faith.

This message reminds us that generosity is not measured by the amount we give, but by the heart behind it. Living generously means honoring God first, trusting Him fully, and offering what we have with open hands.

Join us this Sunday as we learn what it means to live with a generous heart and stay On Course in our faith, priorities, and trust in God.

She gave all she had.

What a beautiful Child Dedication Sunday on May 17!

We are so thankful for the families who chose to dedicate their children to the Lord and for the church family who committed to love, encourage, and walk alongside them in faith.

These moments are such a special reminder of God’s favor, His faithfulness, and the blessing of raising the next generation together.

Enjoy these photos from a meaningful Sunday of worship, family, and dedication.

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3
