Now you can enjoy an exciting royal afternoon at the Palace of Gold, "North America's only genuine palace". Overlooking the Appalachian hills and valleys, Prabhupada's Palace of Gold is reminiscent of an Indian kingdom. Enjoy leisurely walks through our award winning gardens or sit by the lotus pond and enjoy a smoothie. Inside, see sunlight colors through thirty-one stained glass windows reflecte

d in crystal chandeliers and mirrored ceilings. Fifty-two varieties of marble and onyx imported from Europe, Asia and Africa. In the Grand Hall hangs a giant French chandelier over 150 years old. Murals depicting ancient Indian classics are painted on the ceiling in the tradition of Renaissance masters. Walls and pillars are accented with semi-precious stones and pure gold. Under the thirty-ton main dome is a 4200 piece crystal ceiling. Four royal peacock windows display more than 1,500 pieces of hand-crafted stained glass. Peacock and lotus motifs pervade the Palace, etched into numerous windows and carved into doors. Peacocks are traditionally associated with Royalty and Lord Krishna, who wears a peacock feather in His hair. Prabhupada's Palace of Gold is worth the trip to WV, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Spring is quietly unfolding at the Palace of Gold 🌸

While the roses are just beginning to show hints of new growth, the grounds are already alive with early blooms—crocuses pushing through, clusters of daffodils, and fragrant hyacinths lining the pathways.

This long weekend is a beautiful time to visit. With more guests arriving, there’s a gentle energy in the air—people walking the gardens, pausing by the pond, taking in the first signs of the season.

One unexpected highlight right now: the lotus pond is empty, offering a rare chance to see how the lotuses grow and rest beneath the surface before they rise again.

And the peacocks—completely in their element—are in full plume, adding their own kind of splendor to the landscape.

Our team has also been quietly working on something many of you have asked for—a Palace of Gold book. A thoughtfully curated piece capturing its history, architecture, and intricate, ornate design. With the start of the season, we hope to have it ready for you to browse, take home, and share with friends and family.

In light of the ongoing federal government shutdown — which has caused major uncertainty for many families relying on SNAP and EBT benefits — we want to come alongside our community in service and care.

From the Palace of Gold and the New Vrindaban Temple family, we invite anyone who is currently struggling to buy vegetables or groceries for meals to come and join us for two complimentary meals each day:
• Breakfast at 9:00 a.m.
• Lunch at 1:30 p.m.

These meals are wholesome, plant-based, well-balanced and served with affection in the spirit of community service. You are welcome to join us every day, for as long as you need a bit of support to get back on your feet.
