Have you ever led someone to Christ or have known someone who just came to Christ, but you didn't know how to get them started in the Christian faith. If so, you are not alone. This is one of the biggest needs in churches today. All too often these new believers are left to fend for themselves and, as a result, their spiritual growth and, most importantly, their relationship to Jesus Christ is delayed or diminished.
This workshop focuses on that specific need by providing many resources and some simple methods for following-up that new or recommitted believer. Come and join us and learn how you can follow-up and disciple a new Christian.

Register for the Upper Ohio Valley Baptist Association fun-filled afternoon of family fellowship at Zion Retreat & RV Park in Flushing, Ohio! This gathering is designed for churches, families, children, students, and ministry leaders across the association to enjoy time together, build relationships, and celebrate the joy of fellowship.

The afternoon will include a covered dish fellowship lunch, free ziplining from noon to 3:00 PM, swimming, bounce pads, kayaking, fishing for kids, co****le, volleyball, a kids playground, the Salvation Hiking Trail, and a free bike trail with bike rentals available.

Bring your family, invite your church, and come ready for an afternoon of encouragement, laughter, and connection.

You will also learn about opportunities to serve directly alongside the seminary through short-term mission trips and ministry partnerships.

This gathering will be offered both in person for those who are able to attend at the UOVBA Office and virtually through Google Meet for those joining remotely.

❤️ Visiting Nursing Homes ❤️

One of the greatest mission fields is often found in the quiet hallways of nursing homes and care facilities. Many seniors spend their days longing for conversation, encouragement, and the simple reminder that they are loved and not forgotten. A visit, a smile, a prayer, or a familiar hymn can make an eternal impact.

Through faithful ministry, WMU groups have the opportunity to become a steady source of hope and compassion by adopting local nursing homes. Reading Scripture, singing hymns, sharing devotionals, celebrating birthdays, or simply sitting and listening can open doors for meaningful relationships and Gospel conversations. These moments remind residents that God sees them, values them, and continues to walk beside them in every season of life.

Around the world, IMB missionaries minister to elderly believers and isolated seniors overseas, while NAMB chaplains and churches across North America faithfully care for aging populations through visitation ministries, outreach programs, and compassionate support. No one is ever too old to experience the love of Christ or hear the hope of the Gospel.

As believers, we are called to honor and care for older generations with kindness, dignity, and Christlike love. Sometimes the smallest acts of compassion become the loudest testimonies of God’s grace.

🙏 Prayer Focus:
Pray for aging populations worldwide and for ministries reaching them with compassion, encouragement, and the gospel. Pray that seniors who feel lonely or forgotten would experience the love of Christ through caring churches, missionaries, and volunteers. Ask God to strengthen those serving in nursing home ministries and to open hearts to the message of salvation.

🇺🇸 National Day of Prayer 🇺🇸

This Thursday, May 7th, we join together with believers across our nation for the National Day of Prayer—a time set aside to seek God’s guidance, give thanks, and lift up our communities, leaders, and country.

Prayer has always been a powerful foundation for hope, unity, and strength. In times of uncertainty, it reminds us where our help comes from. In times of blessing, it calls us to gratitude. And in every season, it connects us to the heart of God.

📖 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face… then I will hear from heaven…” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

We encourage you to be intentional:
🙏 Pray for our nation and its leaders
🙏 Pray for our local communities and churches
🙏 Pray for families, schools, and those in need
🙏 Pray for unity, peace, and revival

Even more, we invite you to take part in a local National Day of Prayer service in your area this Thursday. Gathering together in prayer is a powerful reminder that we are not alone—we are part of a greater body united in faith.

Whether it’s at a church, courthouse steps, park, or community center, find a place to join others in lifting up the name of the Lord.
