Nobody sets out to make a decision they believe will ruin their life. Most people are doing what makes sense to them... But our own understanding can feel completely reliable, even when it's leading us in the wrong direction.

"There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death." - Proverbs 14:12

Think about how many people around us are trying to figure out life without knowing the One who created them. That's why the gospel is such good news! Jesus allows us to see life from an entirely different perspective, and sharing Him with others is one of the most important things we can do.🙏🏾

As you're making your grocery list this week, consider adding a few extra items to help a family in our community enjoy Thanksgiving! 🦃🧡

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive begins November 3, and this is a great week to start gathering donations. Whether it's a box of stuffing, some mashed potatoes, or your family's favorite Thanksgiving side dish, every contribution is an opportunity to show God's love to our neighbors.

All donations will support the food pantry at Burke United Christian Ministries, helping provide food for local families this holiday season.

📍 Drop Off: New Day Christian Church | Tuesday - Thursday from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, or Sunday mornings.

COVID taught us something about how deeply one problem can affect an entire world. Regardless of our backgrounds, beliefs, or circumstances, every one of us experienced its impact in some way.

There's an important spiritual truth in that experience. Romans 5:12 reminds us that sin entered the world through Adam and spread to all mankind. We all share the same need for a Savior, and the wonderful news of the gospel is that Jesus came to deal with the very thing we could never overcome on our own.

Through His finished work, we have forgiveness, freedom, and the opportunity to live a completely new life in Him!🙌🏾

Jesus never treated people like a formula...

Martha had questions that needed truth. Mary was grieving and needed His presence. Thomas needed room to work through what he was struggling to believe. Peter needed to know that failure had not canceled his purpose. Zacchaeus needed someone willing to come close, and the Pharisees needed truth spoken plainly.

Jesus knew the heart of every person standing in front of Him, and He still knows ours. Hebrews 4 reminds us that nothing about us is hidden from Him, which means you never have to figure out the right way to approach Jesus. He knows you completely, loves you fully, and knows exactly what you need.🙏🏾

As we get ready for Thanksgiving, we have a wonderful opportunity to help families in our community enjoy some of those same holiday traditions! We're collecting Thanksgiving food items here at New Day to support the food pantry at Burke United Christian Ministries, and we'd love for you to be part of it.

From stuffing and mashed potatoes to green beans, gravy, and pie filling, every contribution helps us share a little love with our neighbors this season. 🧡

One of the most important questions you can consider is where your understanding of right and wrong is coming from...

Think about the Apostle Paul before his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. He was convinced he was serving God, even while persecuting the very people who belonged to Him. Paul was sincere in what he believed, but sincerity alone couldn't give him the understanding he needed. It took an encounter with Jesus to change the way he saw everything.

That's why it's so important to keep your heart open to the truth of God's Word. The Holy Spirit continues teaching us to recognize what reflects God's character, and there's great wisdom in remaining humble enough to let Him correct our thinking.

Are you allowing Scripture to shape what you believe, or are you simply looking for Scripture to agree with what you already think?🤔
