June is Pride Month and it is a time to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, commemorate the community’s history and honor the community’s continued fight against discrimination. Pride is a powerful public platform for people to celebrate who they are and build a sense of community and belonging.

Pride is also a critical time to highlight the need for continued activism and solidarity given the barrage of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and executive actions. With the Human Rights Campaign declaring a national state of emergency for LGBTQ+ Americans, our
advocacy and solidarity are as important as ever.

We have many opportunities for worry, and plenty of time to be judgemental of ourselves and others. What if curiosity could soften our worry and interrupt our judgment? In a world that urges us to rush to conclusions about ourselves, one another, and the future, curiosity invites us to practice a different way of being. Let's explore how curiosity opens space for compassion, deeper understanding, and even hope, and how asking gentle questions can become a spiritual practice that draws us closer to one another and to the sacred mystery of life. We will also be having a special Bridging Ceremony for Emily Simon who is graduating high school!

This Memorial Day we remember the ones who have gone before us.

"FOR ALL OUR LOSSES"

For those we miss.
For things long gone.
For those who or what we last held in our arms,
in our hands and in our hearts —
we pray.

We pray for memories to stay strong
Memories of words and warmth,
of actions and stillness.

We pray for Love shared and lived,
Love to remain with us and with them,
for that to become enough.

We pray for the courage to put our feet
on the floor when we wake.
To move through the day as if we cared.

Oh, Love, that holds us all:
hold on to me while I hold on to what I have lost.
Amen.
