September 11 — A Day to Remember

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who courageously stepped forward on September 11, 2001.

In the midst of tragedy, our nation witnessed something powerful: unity. We stood together. We cared for one another. We prayed together. And we remembered that we are stronger when we stand as one.

May we never forget the lives that were lost, the sacrifices that were made, and the spirit of unity that followed.

Today, we remember.
Today, we honor.
Today, we pray.

THE TRUTH PROJECT — UPDATED

We’re excited to begin The Truth Project with Dr. Del Tackett at Abundant Life Church!

Starting Saturday, September 12th, we’ll meet each Saturday evening from 6:30–8:00 PM as we dive into what it means to live out truth in every area of our lives.

This is a great opportunity to grow in your faith, strengthen your biblical worldview, and have meaningful conversations with others. Bring a large group, or just bring a friend!

A LIFE OF SURRENDER

The Christian life isn’t about staying on the mountaintop. It’s about walking every step with Jesus—because it doesn’t matter what we’re walking through; it matters who we’re walking with.

In Genesis 22:1–14, Abraham’s journey to Mount Moriah was a journey of surrender. With every step, he surrendered his son, his future, God’s promise, and everything he held dear.

Abraham trusted the Promiser with the promise. He didn’t know how God would provide, but he knew that God was faithful.

And when Abraham reached the altar, God provided a substitute—a ram in the place of Isaac.

Thousands of years later, God would provide the ultimate substitute for us. Jesus climbed the mountain of Calvary with a wooden cross on His back and willingly laid down His life for our sins.

It should have been us… but God. ❤️

Jesus became our substitute so that we could be forgiven, made righteous, and have eternal life.

A life of surrender isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a lifestyle—step by step, day by day, laying everything before the Lord and trusting Him with the outcome.

So today, ask yourself:

What is God asking you to surrender?

Your plans?
Your sin?
Your anxiety?
Your future?
A promise you’ve been trying to fulfill in your own way?

You don’t have to understand everything before you surrender everything.

Trust the Promiser with the promise.
Trust the Provider with the provision.
Trust Jesus with your life.

Because it doesn’t matter what you’re walking through.
It matters who you’re walking with.

Happy Labor Day from Abundant Life Church!

Today, we’re thankful for the blessing of work, the strength God gives us each day, and the people who faithfully serve and provide for their families and communities.

As you enjoy this holiday weekend, may you take time to rest, recharge, and remember that “whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23

This Sunday, we come together to remember Jesus—not just what He did, but the love behind His sacrifice.

The bread reminds us of His body broken for us. The cup reminds us of His blood poured out for the forgiveness of our sins.

Communion is a moment to pause, reflect, give thanks, and remember the greatest love we will ever know. Because of Jesus, we have forgiveness, hope, and new life.

Come worship with us and take time to remember the One who gave it all for us. There is a seat waiting for you!

EQUIPPED FOR WAR 🛡️

Ephesians 6:10–24 reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle, and we cannot fight it in our own strength. We are called to “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” and to put on the whole armor of God.

The enemy is real, but God has given us everything we need to stand firm—the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the Gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. 🛡️⚔️

We don’t put on the armor just to fight—we put it on so that when the battle comes, we can stand.

Be equipped. Be alert. Stand firm. Keep praying. And never forget who fights with you.

A Small Devotional 🤍

Sometimes we simply need to slow down, take a breath, and remember that God is near.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Whatever you’re carrying today, bring it to Jesus. You don’t have to carry it alone. Take a moment to pray, rest in His presence, and trust Him. 🙏

Ephesians 5:22–33 → 6:1–4 📖

This Sunday, we continued through Ephesians and talked about God’s design for marriage and family.

Wives, submitting to your husbands isn’t about being less than or losing your voice—it’s about reflecting Christ through love, respect, and a heart surrendered to God. And husbands, loving your wives means loving them the way Christ loves the church—with sacrifice, humility, patience, and a willingness to lay down your life for her.

It all points back to Jesus.

The greatest example of love isn’t found in a perfect marriage—it’s found in Christ, who gave Himself for us. When we understand what Jesus has done for us, it changes the way we love, serve, forgive, and lead the people God has placed in our lives.

And as we move into Ephesians 6, we’re reminded that this same Christ-centered love and obedience extends into our families and the way we raise and honor our children.

Marriage and family aren’t ultimately about us—they’re about pointing others to Jesus.
