You don’t overcome sin by trying harder.
You overcome sin by getting closer to Jesus.

If your Bible is closed and your prayer life is dry, don’t be surprised when the struggle feels stronger.

Lift your eyes. Open the Word. Get on your knees.
Close the distance.

đź“– This Week in 1 Corinthians 6:1-11

Next time you’re considering legal action, pause and ask yourself: What is truly in the best interest of the gospel? How will this reflect on Christ?

The world is watching. Your actions, your words, your decisions—they all speak volumes about your faith. What you do influences how others see Christ and what they believe about God.

Before stepping into a courtroom, consider the cost. Is it truly worth it?

We live in a world obsessed with controlling everything around us—our homes, our schedules, our comfort. Yet the one thing God calls us to control is the thing we struggle with most: ourselves.

This Sunday, we explored Matthew 4 and Jesus' temptation in the wilderness. Before any miracles or ministry, Jesus demonstrated perfect self-control—not through willpower, but through complete submission to the Father. He resisted hunger, refused to manipulate God for validation, and rejected power that required compromise.

Here's the truth: self-control grows wherever Christ rules the heart. It's not about trying harder—it's about surrendering deeper. When Christ governs our lives, the Spirit produces what we cannot manufacture on our own: restraint over anger, mastery over appetites, humility over pride.

The question isn't "How hard are you trying?" but "Who is ruling your heart?" Because wherever Christ reigns, transformation follows.
