A bittersweet day at Hopeful Baptist Church, as we said a farewell and happy retirement to Pastor Leroy Davis, and his wonderful wife, Cathy.

Pastor Davis led Hopeful faithfully since 2012, and for the past 14 years have guided us with wisdom, love, gentleness, and kindness. From our pulpit, he brought us sermons that shaped our faith, provided scriptural truth and sound theology with unwavering confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“Mrs. Cathy” as she was called by our “Hopeful herd” of children, stepped up when Hopeful had a need for more teachers for our children’s ministry. She loved and cared for each and every child she met, offering comfort and joy to each lesson she taught.

They will be missed, and we pray for peace and rest for them in this new chapter of their life.
