Depolarizing Ourselves: An Interactive Workshop — Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 7:00–8:30 PM
This Braver Angels workshop offers a thoughtful first step toward healthier civic engagement by helping participants recognize and reduce the effects of harmful polarization in their own thinking and conversations. Rather than debating issues, the session focuses on how we regard people on “the other side of the aisle,” inviting us to move beyond seeing enemies and see one another with greater respect, openness, and emotional calm. A free in-person session to become more aware of your "inner polarizer" and to learn methods for disagreeing without contempt and ridicule

Note: This Free event is to be attended in person (Promo Code: "BRAVER").

Polarization is fueled by how we talk about those on the other side of an issue. Too often, we ridicule, dismiss, or stereotype our fellow citizens. When Braver Angels addresses “polarization,” we are not referring to healthy disagreements over issues or philosophy. We are addressing how we regard and talk about large groups of people -- people who happen to be on the other side of the political aisle.

The earth care team on May 20 hosted a delicious vegetarian soup and salad lunch and led discussions on making choices in your home and/or yard that help the long-term health of the earth. An enjoyable learning event.

In the last month we had a very good seminar of Food Waste, led by Elise Erhart of Hamilton County Resource. This is part of Evergreen's mission to reduce waste so more my have part of God's abundance.

Your Home Your Yard, Your Power to Make a Difference

On Wednesday, May 20th, the Evergreen Earth Care team will lead a discussion about the awesome opportunity you have every day to act as a steward of the natural world. In our homes, on our decks or in our yards, we can care for the environment by making simple but impactful choices.

The team will host a simple soup and salad lunch beginning at 12:00 noon at the church, 9994 Zig Zag Rd. Lunch will be followed by a discussion about the ability each of us has to manage our homes and properties with deep respect for the natural world. Gift bags and a raffle will add to the fun.
