Twas the night before camp almost time to turn out the light, the counselors snug in their beds with hearts filled with delight.
The cabins were cleaned decorations were all made, staff checked their schedules and plans were displayed.
The lanyards were sorted, the name tags all set, just a few last-minute details remained to be met.
The games and activities were all prepared,
and excitement was growing among counselors who all cared.
Some practiced camp songs they would soon proudly sing, while others planned icebreakers and jokes to bring.
The counselors walked about with clipboards in hand, making sure every corner was ready as planned.
They knew there'd be challenges, long days, and more, but those were the moments they had all signed up for.
For camp isn't just crafts, activities, or games, it's about teaching children about Jesus and planting a seed that will remain.
So they headed to bed with anticipation and glee, dreaming of the campers they'd soon come to see.
And they whispered together before turning out the light:
"Happy Camp Week to all, and to all a good night!"
