Every Christian knows what it feels like to be out of place in this world. At work, at school, in conversations—that sense that you just don't quite belong here. But here's the truth: it's not a sign something is wrong with you. It's a sign something is RIGHT with you.

This Sunday we explored 1 Peter 2:11-17 and discovered what it means to live as God's people in man's world. We're not just citizens of earth—we're citizens of heaven walking through the kingdoms of man. Our identity in Christ must shape our conduct before a watching world.

Here's the challenge: People may not read the Bible, but they will certainly read your life. Your excellent conduct, your good works, your humble submission—these aren't just personal choices. They're the very things God uses to draw others to salvation. Don't make permanent habits in a temporary world. Live as the beloved exile you are, shining faithfully before a world that desperately needs to see Jesus.

Your life matters. How you live matters. Let's make it count.

Sunday is coming. What are you bringing?

"What do you have to offer as a sacrifice as the priest? No longer blood sacrifice is needed. So He's not calling you to kill anything alive. What are you bringing? What are you bringing? What do you bring to the altar that will come up as a sweet aroma to the Lord? Let me rephrase this. What do you bring that is acceptable to God? He's not looking for strange fire. What would be acceptable for you to bring to God today? Our identity leads to ministry. What's your identity? Living stones. Being built up together with Him. What are we bringing to God through Jesus that is acceptable? Our worship. Our obedience. Our service. Our praise."

"We're speaking of persecuted Christians in Asia Minor. We're speaking of those who've lost family. They've lost their livelihood, their jobs. The culture has turned their backs on them. And they are depressed at least. And what does Peter remind them? He doesn't say, oh, toughen up, buttercup. What does he say? He says, listen, Jesus is the cornerstone. He's been rejected by man, but he's precious in the sight of God. You too are a living stone. You're precious in the sight of God. He's using you. And who are you? Oh, you are indeed a chosen family, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession."

"And there in the darkness, he begins to speak of this marvelous light. He says, oh, you are in darkness. You're not in darkness now. You are in the marvelous light of Jesus Christ now. Listen, he says that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Christian, hear me today. You are not in darkness any longer. Although the days may feel dark, you are in the light. And you have been called for a purpose. His purpose is to bring others to the light. There's no greater calling."

What an incredible Sunday celebrating our graduates—from 1st grade all the way to a Master of Arts in Theological Studies! But the real foundation we celebrated was Christ Himself, the Living Stone.

In 1 Peter 2:4-10, we're reminded that though the world rejected Jesus, God declared Him precious and chose Him as the cornerstone. And here's the amazing truth: when you come to Christ, you become a living stone too! He's building His church with YOU—shaping you, placing you exactly where you belong in His spiritual house.

You're not called to be a spectator. You're a holy priesthood with a mission: to proclaim the excellence of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. You were once "not a people," but now you are God's own possession. That's worth rejoicing over! Let's live as living stones, built on the Rock that cannot be shaken.
