LHABAB DUCHEN: NOV 1st
Please join us this coming Sunday (Nov 1st) at Thekchen Choling Temple as we celebrate the Buddhist holy day of Lhabab Duchen, the day that Buddha Shakyamuni
descended from heaven after giving teachings to his mother.
We will meet at 10:00 AM in Medicine Buddha Hall, and Geshe Thinley will lead us in Lama Chopa and Palden Lhamo protector rituals. During the rituals we will
all enjoy tea and traditional sweet Lucky Rice. To create merit it is also traditional for participants to bring offerings for the altar like lights, flowers, fruits, sweets, money, etc.
(Please come a few minutes early to place your offerings). There will also be an opportunity to give a ceremonial white scarf (kata) and make a money offering to thank our
resident lama, Geshe Thinly Namgyal. (Katas and offering envelopes will be available at the temple).
For more information please call 315-480-1088 or write [email protected]
(Note: There will be no Sunday morning meditation and please remember to change your clocks on Saturday night.)
