"Is it really true that what I've done in the past doesn't define who I am?" asked a young lady during a small group time at the Jubilee Youth Center. We have been working through a series this fall called, "Honest Questions, Honest Answers." That particular night, we were asking "Who am I?" and pointing the students to find their identity in Christ who loved them and gave himself for them.

The young lady who asked this question is hurting in many ways. As we listen to her story, we hear a heart longing to be loved, to know that someone cares for her. And we get the amazing privilege of continuing to walk with her and point her to Jesus!

Each week students gather at the Jubilee Youth Center to hang out with their friends, share a meal, play games, and hear from God's Word. Each week followers of Jesus come to build relationships with these students. As these relationships deepen, mentors begin walking with students outside of program nights. As we train and coach these mentors, God brings about remarkable fruit through their investment in the lives of these students!

One of our mentors has been walking with his mentee for several years now. The relationship was growing in encouraging ways when he lost contact with him. Months later, God brought their paths together again at a Family Dollar that he usually never shops at! The relationship continued with the mentee coming to JYC, spending time with the mentor's family, coming to church, etc. Recently, the mentee's mom asked if her son could stay with his mentor for an unknown period of time while she takes care of some personal business. The mentor and his wife graciously said yes and are now sharing their home with this young man! Like Jesus laid His life down for us, it is our joy to lay our lives down for the good of others!

Join us TOMORROW for Give to the Max Day. Your donation helps us continue walking with followers of Jesus as we build these discipling relationships with inner-city youth. https://www.givemn.org/organization/Jyc
