“Absolute Confidence”
An encouraging message for Ascension Day

“When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.”
Luke 24:50-51

Can you and I be confident? Can we approach our lives with joy? Jesus’ ascension account answers, “Absolutely!”

As Jesus lifted up his hands, what would the disciples have seen? Those nail scars, proof that the disciples were forgiven! But those hands weren’t dead anymore; they were alive! Death had been defeated! And he didn’t stop blessing them. Instead, “while he was blessing them,” he ascended. In other words, those hands of blessing never went down!

And those hands of blessing are still up today. You’re just as forgiven, death is just as defeated for you as it was for them, Jesus is still blessing his people today just as he was then.

So can you and I be confident? Joy-filled? Absolutely, because the hands of the ascended Jesus are still up!

Thankful for Jesus’ continued blessing, just like you,
