Good morning everyone. Before I give my update on Laila I just want to say how much all the prayers have meant to us all. God has shown His hand in everything...from the doctors, the nurses, and even medical staff that brought food, and just saw to monetary needs. We had some pray for us and with us, some just speak words of encouragment, and all of it just felt like God constantly speaking to me/to us and it has been such a comfort. Not only that but everyone who has prayed for us, reached out to us...it has been overwhelming but in a good way. Its such a blessing to be a part of God's family.
So now our update:
Yesterday morning a surgeon came in, told me what the plan was moving forward, and then left. Hours later, a medical specialist came in and brought in a medical vac machine that he would be applying to her leg.
The state of mind I was in was that there is no way we can go home with her leg like this. I was feeling some anxiety and trying to trust the process and that doctors know better than me but I was feeling a bit nervous about it all.
When he came in with the machine, the first thing he did was introduce himself and say this was his ministry, and could he pray with me and for Laila. It was what I needed for what came next. So he explained the machine, how it worked, let me get comfortable with it, and said he'd be back to apply the machine to her wound.
He came in later, and it was a painful process, but he explained every step in detail to me and Laila, he made sure she understood what was happening, and they got it all connected, and got her settled. Then he turned to me and said, ok...you're all set to go home. I was like wait, what?! He just said yeah, you're good to go.
After that it was a whirlwind. The nurse was so kind...she could tell I was a bit stunned, so she took her time going through everything with me from meds, to making sure I was comfortable with the machine, discharge papers, follow up appointments, and more. She sat with me and helped me through everything.
So im so happy to report that WE ARE HOME!!!
It was a bit rough getting her home and she had a bit of a painful night, but now we are settled in and just adjusting to handicap life for a while.
Still a long road ahead, but God has been so good and we cant be thankful enough to everyone for all yall have done for us.
I wil keep updates going but for now, we are home, settled, and taking it day by day.
Love you all and thank you again so much ❤️
