Each of us have particular strengths and weaknesses, and sometimes our weaknesses rule over our strengths. But in our walk of faith, we can tap into Christs strength.

If you’re facing a crisis today, let the Lord calm you. If you have a problem with no resolution, give it to Him. If there’s an opportunity, ask God to strengthen you for it. If you feel weary, remember how God gives us strength sufficient for each day (Deuteronomy 33:25).
Christ is not weak toward you, but mighty in you!

Whatever and wherever we are at any given moment of any given day, God is God and he is enough!

Thanks David Jeremiah I needed this. ♥️🙏🏻😊

God-Centered Prayer

When fear strikes, choose to focus on our almighty and faithful God instead of the situation.

October 17, 2022

2 Chronicles 20:1-18

Once, when someone once asked if I’d ever heard myself pray, I decided to record my voice as I prayed about a matter of deep concern. After listening to the recording, I realized it was filled with negative descriptions of how bad the situation was and how discouraged I felt. My focus was all wrong.

On encountering a fearful situation, Jehoshaphat chose a different approach: God-centered prayer. Instead of coming to the Lord with a “woe is me” attitude, Jehoshaphat began by focusing on God’s power and sovereignty (2 Chron. 20:6), His past faithfulness to Judah (2 Chron. 20:7-8), and His promise to hear and deliver His people (2 Chron. 20:9). Only after strengthening his faith through these reminders of God’s adequacy did the king make his petitions (2 Chron. 20:10-12).

In prayer, we can choose to magnify either the Lord or our difficulty. Are you concentrating on the faithfulness of almighty God or your overwhelming problem and negative feelings? Let’s keep our eyes on Him and wait with complete confidence until we see the great things He’ll do for His glory and our good.
Have a Blessed week!

From the Pastors Desk,

What’s in your hand?

Exodus 4:1 Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, 'The LORD did not appear to you'?" 2 Then the LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" "A staff," he replied. 3 The LORD said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. 4 Then the LORD said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 5 "This," said the LORD, "is so that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob--has appeared to you."
Judges 15:15 Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.
Joshua 2:17 The men said to her, "This oath you made us swear will not be binding on us 18 unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother, your brothers and all your family into your house. 19 If anyone goes outside your house into the street, his blood will be on his own head; we will not be responsible. As for anyone who is in the house with you, his blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on him. 20 But if you tell what we are doing, we will be released from the oath you made us swear." 21 "Agreed," she replied. "Let it be as you say." So she sent them away and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.
Acts 9:36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room. 38 Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, "Please come at once!" 39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. 40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called the believers and the widows and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord. 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a

This is why we chose the “where everyone is welcome!”
You never know when someone walks through the door of your church no matter race, how they look or dress…they come seeking you should welcome them as Jesus with open arms because they are in the right place at the right time when they need to be….God died for all sinners even the vilest of sinners such as the thief on the cross and he forgives and forgets….I seen this post this morning and had to share…..
Big Horse Creek Baptist Church is standing Tall on a hill here on Buttermilk Rd for ALL WHO COME THROUGH THOSE DOORS! Amen

🔥TESTIMONY🔥
Meet Adam…Atheist, demon oppressed, addicted to drugs, suicidal and depressed….and a descendant grandson of the great preacher and theologian Charles Spurgeon. While on the verge of su***de a lady told him about Jesus. Adam called out to Jesus and was gloriously saved and delivered instantly! 8 months ago and is free today! He told me that every molecule in his body was filled with a love he had never experienced! He was baptized by pastor Phil Tilley at Rogerstone Pentecostal Church in Wales, UK just recently and the Holy Spirit came upon him with power. He is so full of love and is out on the streets boldly proclaiming the good news of the gospel. Never give up on someone who needs Christ! Salvation can come to those who appear to be unreachable! 🔥✝️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

From The Pastors desk,

When Self-Improvement Becomes Self-Destruction

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
John 15:1 NIV
I love self-improvement.
Or rather, I love *reading* about self-improvement… doing it isn’t usually the fun part, is it?! 😁
The problem is I can get so sucked into finding places to “improve” that I forget to ask God where he’s looking for growth.
What if a branch thought it knew where to find life better than the vine?
* Imagine that branch stretching toward the ground, rather than the sun…
* Imagine that branch getting tangled in nearby distractions, hiding from the Vine Dresser…
* Imagine a branch that ignored pruning because it knew best what it needed…
This branch will wither.
Personal growth is a good thing. But there is a point where self-improvement because self-destruction when we ignore the Gardener’s guidance.

Instead…→ Pause.→ Listen.→ Respond.→ Repeat.
The branch cannot prune itself.
Self-development literature, podcasts, and motivational YouTube videos cannot replace our Vine Dresser.
Here’s the wild thing…
God is better at challenging, growing, and stretching us than we could ever hope to be.
If you don’t believe me, consider this: can you impact the world like Jesus in your own power?
Do you really know what’s headed your way in the next year, month, or day?
God does—and he’s really good at preparing us for it.
He wants us to BEAR FRUIT!
This won’t mean sitting on the sidelines, motionless, and enjoying the soothing stagnation of entertainment, lost time, and wasted potential.
It will mean the opposite.
We were created to flourish—but we don’t define what flourishing means.
Make sure your pursuit of self-improvement is guided by the one who knows who he created you to become.

Have a blessed day!
Pastor Larry 🙏
