We covered a TON of ground in Rome over the last few days.

✝️"My favorite was getting to see St. Paul's. I was moved to think I was standing right about where my confirmation saint, St. Paul, was chained and then went to be martyred!" - Ryder Clark, Confirmation sponsor - Teresa Goehring

✝️"I was really impacted by the prison cell of St. Paul. I always relate my suffering to him because he suffered so much. But seeing his prison cell really put into perspective how much he suffered and how little I suffer. He was shipwrecked, imprisoned, scourged, stoned. I've just been asked to sweat a little bit. Seeing his prison cell put everything into perspective." - Zach Steffens, seminarian

✝️"Coming back to the city is always special. Spending five years of formation here was an incredible gift and Rome truly became home so to be able to not only come back but to be able to share the gifts this city holds with the seminarians, students, and chaperones is an incredible blessing. We have celebrated the Mass in some truly unique churches. The Mass is the same sacrament as it is in the parish back home, but to be saying Mass surrounded by the apostles and saints of the Church adds a deeper level of intimacy and intentionality. Our newly ordained deacons have both preached intensely spiritual and moving homilies. They have been a gift to the other pilgrims on the trip." - Fr. Zach Jones

Rome day 3 & 4!

✝️"I am continually impressed by the depth of faith, the passion for Christ, and the desire for wisdom the youth possess. The Catholic faith is alive and on fire." - Teresa Goehring

✝️"When we view these amazing churches, we can see how the Lord has called people before us to build these places to impact our lives generations later. This reminds us that we too are called to do this in unique ways for future generations." - Andrew Frerichs

✝️"The Pantheon: I thought it was legend. It was amazing how it was built 2000 years ago. I can't even comprehend how they did it. How they knew to build and design then we literally lost that. It was unbelievable." - Carter Trautman

✝️"The audience with the Pope was incredible. It revealed the heart of the universal Church. Here we are praying with and for all. Surrounded by others from all over the world. It was very amazing how Pope Leo fluently switched languages so easily. A true shepherd of his people." - William Kahle, seminarian

Rome day 2!✌🏼
What an incredible day! Here are some personal thoughts from a couple of our young adults and a seminarian on their favorite part:

✝️"Walking into St. Peter's Basilica brought forth new emotions and connections I have never felt before. Not only was there incredible architecture, but I was asked to do the second reading for Mass, and it was my first time ever being a lector. St. Peter's tomb was just a few steps away while I read and the feeling I got was something out of this world. I was nervous, but at the same time, I felt so free and connected to my faith in a way that I've never been before." - Ryanna Wellendorf

✝️"The beauty of the Catholic Church is both authoritative and filled with beauty. During this pilgrimage, I am realizing the sacredness of the Holy Mass. The architecture is absolutely captivating." - Asher Knudtson

✝️"My favorite part of the day was being in the basement of St. Peter's Basilica seeing the different tombs of saints and popes, especially those that I have devotions to. Being a seminarian and seeing the tomb of St. Peter was very surreal and it made the Church and it's history, something that has been living for so long, so real for me." - William Kahle, seminarian
