This weekend we've got a guest joining us in worship. Ben Gray will be leading services Saturday at 6 PM and Sunday at 9 and 11 AM.

There's a stretch of shoreline that got a lot quieter this week.

This past summer, like many before, we filled it with lawn chairs and kayaks and one very good dog named Paisley greeting everyone who came ashore. We watched a baby get baptized with the lake as a backdrop. We sang over motorboat engines and let the wind take half our words before they reached the mic... and nobody seemed to mind.

Boat-In Worship is done for the season, but the thing we relearn every summer out there doesn't close down with it, worship was never really about walls. It travels. It sets up camp wherever people gather looking for it.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, by boat or by lawn chair, all summer long. We'll see you back on dry land this Sunday at 9 AM in Arnolds Park, or 11 AM at Langdon.

Words matter more than we often realize. When we label someone "dangerous," "lazy," or "less than," we start to lose sight of the person standing beneath that label, a person made in God's image, worthy of dignity no matter what.

As United Methodists, we believe in the sacred worth of every human being. Not the deserving. Not the ones who earn it. Everyone.

This week, we're revisiting last month's sermon on the power of language, and the God who calls us to see past labels into the heart of every person we meet.
