If wandering and being misplaced go unchecked, we eventually find ourselves lostโ€”stumbling around and hurting ourselves and others. Admitting we are lost is humbling, just as it was for Zacchaeus, the isolated tax collector who found salvation only when he welcomed Jesus into his home. True life is found when we stop trying to save our own lives and instead surrender them. Itโ€™s like writing your name at the top of a blank sheet of paper, turning it around, sliding it across the table to Jesus, and saying, "You fill in the rest".

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Are you still trying to write your own script? What would it look like for you to slide that blank sheet of paper over to Jesus today and trust Him to fill in the rest?

True relational connectivity is a vital shield; you often don't realize you lack it until a crisis hits, and then it is too late. The pastor shared how the body of Christ was his lifeline when his son, Quentin, was killed. In contrast, he recalled a man who missed being there for a friend undergoing open-heart surgery because he was always absent over petty offenses and complaints about the worship style. Jesus did 80% of His ministry work in small, relational contexts rather than large coliseums. That is why Bridge Groups (restarting after Labor Day) existโ€”to move us out of anonymity and bring the theories of Sunday sermons into real, supportive relationships.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Are you hiding in the anonymity of the crowd? What is one courageous, small step you can take this week to step into relational connectivity before you find yourself in a season of suffering?

You don't have to have it all figured out to follow Jesus. This student is heading into college and decided today was the day to publicly commit their faith to Godโ€”not because they're perfect, but because they need Him.

When we feel misplaced, we believe we don't have a unique place or that our presence in the church doesn't really matter. This mindset is a sedative that lulls us into low commitment and shallow relationships. Itโ€™s like building a complicated piece of furniture with confusing instructions and finding two leftover pieces on the ground when youโ€™re finished. You might think they aren't important, but if that furniture is a chair, you certainly wouldn't want to sit on it! Romans 12 & 1 Corinthians 12 remind us that we are many parts of one single body, we all belong to each other, and ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐’ƒ๐’๐’…

Have you ever felt like an "unimportant, leftover piece" in the church? How does knowing that God has placed you exactly where He wants youโ€”making you entirely necessary to the bodyโ€”change how you view your value today?

๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐’๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ
We often think we are fine living a fragmented life, but the opposite of a connected life is what the Bible calls a lack of shalom (peace). Shalom is not simply the absence of conflict; it is the beautiful work of taking what has been scattered and making it complete and whole again. ๐‰๐ž๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ฆ, and we are designed to experience, enjoy, and learn what this wholeness looks like within the supportive community of His body, the church.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸฝAre you exhausted from pouring all your energy into disconnected areas of your life? What scattered parts of your heart do you need to bring to Jesus today so He can restore His shalom in you?

09/01/2026

Stop compartmentalizing your life. True shalom isn't just the absence of conflictโ€”it's wholeness, completeness, and all the scattered pieces coming together. When we're disconnected from Jesus and each other, we're left fragmented and incomplete. But in Christ, we find the peace God created us to experience.
