A few weeks ago we began our "Route 66: Summer Road Trips" series, exploring different journeys throughout the Bible and the lessons we can learn from them. We have had an opportunity to see the journeys of: Abram (6/7), Naaman (6/14), and the Israelite nation (6/21) so far.

This Sunday, Pastor Bill will be sharing about the journey a couple of disciples took to Emmaus. He, and the others that went to Guatemala, will also share about their recent mission trip. We hope you'll join us in person (or online) to see where we go next!

Sometimes exile looks like rebellion. Other times it looks like disappointment, hurt, distraction, or spiritual drift. You can be physically present in church and still feel far from God.
👉 What are some subtle ways people can drift away from God without realizing it?

One of the great themes of Scripture is exile and return. Again and again, people wander from God, but He never stops pursuing them. No matter how far someone has drifted, God's invitation remains the same: "Come home."
👉 Have you ever experienced a season where God gently drew you back to Him?

Naaman's skin was healed, but his heart was transformed. He began the journey trusting in his status and power. He ended it acknowledging the one true God. Physical healing changed his body; humility changed his life.

👉 Looking back, how has God used a difficult experience to shape your character and deepen your faith?

After Naaman was healed, Elisha refused gifts and rewards. He understood that the miracle belonged to God, not to him. Humility points people toward God instead of drawing attention to itself.

👉 How can you give God more credit for the blessings and successes in your life? Start giving Him credit by sharing one thing He's done through you either below or to someone else.

What does true humility actually look like? The answer is found in Jesus Himself. He was God, yet He gave up everything, took on human form, and died a criminal's death on a cross. That's the standard we're called to live by.

Naaman's servants courageously challenged him when his anger nearly caused him to miss God's blessing. We all need people who love us enough to speak truth when pride clouds our vision.

👉 Who are the people in your life that help keep you grounded and pointed toward God?
