A New chapter for Metro District
Rev. Dr. Michael Plunket Elected & Installed as
District Superintendent
Metro District Family,
Yesterday was a day we will not soon forget.
On Monday, April 20th, 133 credentialed delegates from across our district gathered at Princeton Alliance Church for a Special Election of District Conference — and with a resounding 94% of the vote, Rev. Dr. Michael Plunket was elected as the new District Superintendent of the Metropolitan District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
But we didn't just cast ballots. We worshiped. We prayed.
We asked the Holy Spirit to come fresh upon our new DS and upon all of us. It was a sacred day — for Metro District, for the Kingdom, and for Pastor Mike.
Following the vote, Dr. Plunket was officially installed before the full gathering.
He made his commitments before God and this body: to lead with courage and fresh vision, to be a kingdom carrier of the manifest presence of Christ, and to call us — all of us — into a new season of apostolic, Spirit-filled ministry. He didn't come with a polished management plan. He came with a vision for revival.
Dr. Plunket will officially begin his role as District Superintendent on July 1, 2025, completing the unexpired term through December 31, 2026, followed by a full four-year term beginning January 1, 2027. Until July 1st, Rev. Omar Niebles continues to serve faithfully as our Interim DS.
And we also want you to hear directly from Pastor Mike himself. He shared a brief message with our Metro District family that we know will encourage you.
This is a new chapter in our Metro District.
The salvations, the baptisms, the life change we've seen across our district this spring — it's all pointing to something. Let's believe together for the extraordinary.
Welcome, Dr. Plunket!
