Good evening everyone. What a beautiful sight it was at Hollys tonight. When we left almost the entire seating area was filled with St.Paul people! And from the sound of it everyone was having a great time. Friends, good food, and laughter-what could be better? Thank you to everyone who came out for the Giveback.

With the weather forecast of high heat and humidity please check on your relatives and friends. A quick call or visit could save a life.

Good evening members and friends. I hope that this week has been a good one for you. All I can say is it’s been a week. I want to apologize to the members who had birthdays the last few days of May and these first few days of June and didn’t get a birthday card. All I can say is that my get up and go got up and left. And I haven’t found it yet! You were not forgotten by any means and I am really sorry.

We invite you to worship with us this weekend. Service times are 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Holy communion is offered at both services and is open to all baptized persons.

Our next Giveback is Tuesday, June 9th at Holly’s. Bring your friends and family and enjoy the food and fellowship with us. You do need a coupon and they are available in the bulletin and the church office.

Our Mission of the Month is the Service League of Michigan City, a volunteer run organization that supplies/loans durable medical equipment and other needs to the community. Please be generous.

Dear members and friends.

We invite you to worship with us this weekend. Service times are 4:00 p.m. today and 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. Holy Communion is offered at both services and open to all who are baptized. This weekend, Trinity Sunday, we have our guest Pastor Rev. Dr. Fred Neidner preaching and presiding. Pastor Reshan is attending and celebrating Jacob’s graduation from Rose Holman.

Our Mission of the month for June is the Service League of Michigan City. This organization has been of great value to those in need of medical supplies and equipment. They rely solely on donations and most items can be borrowed for free. Please be generous.

There are a lot of exciting things happening in our church this summer so check out the bulletins and newsletters for more information.

Our next Giveback night is Tuesday, June 9th at Holly’s. You do need a coupon and they are available in the bulletin and church office. Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening together.

On Pentecost we heard the familiar reading of Acts :1-21, where all the people of the regions were together in one place. As a wind swept over the Jewish people and tongues of fire appeared among them, each began speaking in other languages. The assembly was amazed that they could hear in their own native language. The crowd even accused the Jewish people of being drunk early in the morning! They were fulfilling the prophecy given through Joel.

I thought about what a melting pot we live in. I come from German, English, and Irish ancestors and yet I know few words in any other language except English. What would I do if suddenly many other languages were being spoken? I could bring out Google Translate or another program and muddle my way through, or I could assume what was being said by emphasis or body language and demeanor. But you know what they say about assumptions.

What if there was a universal language where everyone knew it? What if that language was love and peace? Imagine a world where there was no hate, no racism, no betrayal, just love and peace, friendship and unity. What a wonderful world it would be!

So today, I hope that you find love and peace through a kind word, a smile, a hug, or just a friend wherever you are.
