Very nice and well attended 4th of July potluck at MUMC yesterday. Great food and entertainment by the Bells and Ukulele's. Thanks to Sue for organizing, Virgil and Reggie for BBQing, Fellowship Committee and everyone who brought the side dishes.

Today our congregation was blessed to have Pastor Malakai & Linda's daughter, Pastor Katrina (from Patagonia, AZ UMC) preside over the service and present the Meditation. And daughter Vika led "Youth Time" with a message from John 17 about being united as a church. We were also Blessed with a duet "Where could I Go But to the Lord" by Blanche and Dennis. Don & Vicki were recognized for their many years of volunteer service to MUMC. And Doris presented 31 Prayer Shaw's for a blessing by pastor Malakai. Following the Worship Service we were served a delicious & authentic Korean lunch by Kathy Cho and her helpers. Thank You Kathy! God is good - All the Time!

Happy "Milestone" (LX) Birthday (ʻAho faʻeleʻi fiefia) to Pastor Malakai. Thank You Pastor for your dedication to, and caring of, our church and congregation. We are so Blessed to have you and your family with us. We hope and pray that you celebrate many more birthdays in this little town of Mesquite, Nevada!

Today we placed a Memorial Plate, in remembrance of Ken Gleason, on a beautiful rock purchased by his loving wife Blanche. Pastor Malakai conveyed meaningful words of Ken's life before saying a blessing of peace and comfort. Several friends of the family attended the event at the pavilion. We will always miss Ken as we keep the memories of him in our hearts and minds.

Wonderful "Joyous Sounds" Bell Choir Concert yesterday. You can view the concert on our church YouTube Channel "Mesquite Methodist Church". The performance included beautiful music played by the "BellTones" quartet. Thank You Bell Choir!!

Thirty-one years ago this month, Apr 1995, our Mesquite United Methodist Church journey began. We thank the amazing group of dedicated individuals with a dream and a plan. Our wonderful church is where it is today as a result of the wise decisions made and carried forth in the name of Jesus Christ. God Bless these folks - many who are not with us today. May we continue to carry forth their dreams in the Christian faith both in our congregation and throughout the surrounding Mesquite community.

Happy Birthday to this wonderful lady from Minnesota, who has done so much for our church and community over the years. Karen managed the MUMC Fellowship Committee for many years supporting Sunday Fellowship gatherings, numerous pot lucks and special luncheons for various groups. We especially enjoy her musical talents so much with her singing in the choir and playing her beloved accordion during occasional Sunday Services & Special Events. And she always has a smile on her face - no matter what! We wish you many more Special Birthdays and - We Love You Karen!
