Mighty Men of Valor

Mighty Men of Valor A page dedicated to assisting men live a life by a Code of Valor based on Biblical teachings. Prayer requests are always welcome.

If you are feeling lost, empty, unfulfilled, unloved or just think there has to be more to life than what you are living now, take a look at this page. It is my strong desire to encourage and help nurture men (and women too), to become the parent, spouse and/or person God has designed us to be. It is also a page that allows me to share my personal journey of redemption through Gods Mercy and Grace

and the forgiveness of sin through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also get to explore the incredible plans that God continues to lay before me. If this is not for you, that is perfectly fine but just know that if you come to that point in your life that you do need it, as I did, I am here to help guide you. May God Bless you and grant you peace and keep you safe in your journeys!

Scripture and a Prayer: “Present Sufferings: Future Glory”

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18)

Prayer:

Lord, when I think about the wonderful grace You displayed upon the cross as You died for me so I can live for all eternity with You in heaven, the present suffering that I am going through is nothing in comparison. To know just how much You love me to take upon Yourself such unimaginable physical and emotional pain is beyond comprehension. Therefore, I bow my knee and my heart to You in humble submission, realizing that the sacrifice You desire is a broken and contrite heart and spirit. And so, all I can say is thank you Jesus. AMEN

Thought For Today: “To Serve or Not To Serve”

There are many times the word, “servant,” and “serve,” occur in the New Testament referring to a believer’s responsibility within the body of Christ, the church. In other words, it’s not about us, but rather it’s about Christ and our serving Him by serving others.

The Bible says, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” (Philippians 2:3)

Jesus said, “So the last will be first, and the first last.” (Matthew 20:16)

The Apostle Paul gives us this example saying that just as God in His great mercy comforts us through our times of difficulty, we are to then in turn serve others by comforting them as God has comforted us (2 Corinthians 1:4).

Jesus Himself gives us the example by which we are to live by. On the last night before His death at the Passover meal, Jesus picked up a water basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, which was the lowest position within the servants of a house.

And then Jesus said, “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.” (John 13:14-15)

So, coming to church isn’t about being served, rather it’s about serving others with the same love and grace God has shown to us. And please understand, it’s not a choice to serve or not to serve, rather it’s about to serve, period.

God has given to each of us the gift of serving Him by serving others. It is no chore, but a privilege.

Thought For Today: “True Hunger and Thirst”

In the attitudes that Jesus told us to possess, one was having the attitude of wanting everything that the Lord desires to give.

In Matthew 5:6, Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”

To hunger and thirst for God isn’t taking a bite and a sip, rather it’s consuming everything that is of God. It’s a craving after God to put Him first.

In Psalm 34:8, King David said, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”

The Prophet Jeremiah talked about how He devoured God’s word and the blessing it became in his life.

“Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.”

Therefore, let’s start devouring God’s word, for like physical food, it brings spiritual life, which then directly effects our spiritual lives.

Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

Thought For Today: “No Pressure”

One of the main problems experienced by Christians, including leaders and pastors, is feeling like we’re not making the grade when it comes to the gifts and talents God has so given.

We look at others who are doing the same thing, and it our minds they’re doing it better. But God never called us to be like them, instead He called us to be like Jesus. And so, when we compare ourselves, we are doing not only a disservice to ourselves, but also to the Lord God who called us.

The Apostle Paul addressed this in 2 Corinthians 10:12. He said, “For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”

And to make sure we are not tempted to compare he said, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” (Philippians 2:3)

In other words, we must stop trying to be what we’re not. We can’t do it all, and God never expects us to try.

Further, Jesus already died for us, so let’s stop killing ourselves trying to be right with God.

The Lord said, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

So, all the pressures off.

Thought For Today: “The Right Attitude”

Our attitudes express what we believe. They are the outward expressions of our inner beliefs. Our action, words, facial expressions, even down to our body language is an expression of what we say we believe.

Our attitude should be the same displayed by Jesus Christ, which was that of a servant.

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him.” (Philippians 2:5-9a)

When Jesus Christ has full authority over our lives, then everything we say and do will reflect that reality. But the opposite is just as true. When we reject Christ’s authority over our lives due to religion, rules, and regulations, then a negative attitude will be exhibited.

And this attitude shows up in how we conduct our lives. To the church in Ephesus, Paul said, “Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:1-2)

What Paul was saying is that if we want to live a life worthy of our Lord, we need to have an attitude of humility, gentleness, patience, acceptance, and love.
