Pastor Mike prepared some chicken piccata and special baked potatoes for the B shift at MFD yesterday afternoon. They all got called out on EMS calls. Glad to have made a dinner for our first responders, even if they’ll have to reheat it.

Please support their Christmas toy drive when you see the giving trees in area churches in a few weeks.

Our fire department is working above and beyond, and we appreciate them all.

**Attention Community Members:**

Benjamin Natzke, a teacher at Prairie River Middle School, is restarting the Tech Ed program and is seeking your help. He hopes the community can come together to provide donations of materials, tools, and other items related to shop education. The goal is to offer students hands-on learning opportunities while keeping class fees low or even free.

If you've been planning to clean out your garage or downsize, this is a fantastic chance to declutter while supporting Merrill students in gaining practical experience with woodworking and metalworking.

Here are some examples of useful items for the program:
- Wood or metal materials
- Woodworking or metalworking tools
- Tape measures
- Squares
- Hammers
- Safety glasses
- Hand tools
- Shop equipment or supplies
- Any other Tech Ed or shop-related items

We will be collecting donations at the church, and they will be delivered to the school in a couple of weeks. Look for a collection box in the narthex or feel free to bring your items to the church office.

If you are interested in supporting the program financially, checks can be made out to MAPS. Cash or checks can be dropped off at the school office or mailed to Benjamin Natzke at 106 N Polk St., Merrill, WI 54452. Please write "Tech Ed" on the memo line.

Saint Stephens UCC sure is beautiful when the sun comes up in the morning!

Ecclesiastes 11:7 says, “The light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun”. 

This verse reminds us to enjoy the simple, everyday gift of daylight and life.

We purchased composted dirt from Hsu Growing Supply to fill in the retaining wall where the bushes once were, and to our surprise, new life has already begun to appear. What looks to be a squash or pumpkin plant has started to grow, and flower buds are beginning to form. We do not know whether it will have enough time to produce before fall, but it is a lovely reminder that God is always at work, bringing life and growth even in places we least expect. Truly, God’s creation has a way of thriving, and His blessings often appear in the most unexpected places.
