Midtown Mosque

Midtown Mosque Midtown Mosque is a masjid located on the border of North Memphis and Midtown Memphis, the first masjid ever to be established in that area of Memphis.

Midtown Mosque is located at 1288 Jackson Ave, Memphis, TN 38107. Midtown Mosque is a locally-focused masjid with the main goals
of worship, da’wah, community service, and community building. In addition, Midtown Mosque provides a centralized worship space for Muslims employed and/or living downtown, uptown, and midtown. The Midtown Mosque property is 3,000 sq ft. It is strategically located just

minutes from Overton Square, Rhodes College, St. Jude, and the new Crosstown Concourse. It is also close to north Memphis where there are no other Muslim centers. Due to the high number of Muslims working and living there, and the great need of spiritual Muslim institutions and dawah efforts in these areas, this masjid has the potential of making a tremendously positive impact.

The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven."

Qatadah reported that a man of Khath’am came to the Prophet (s) and he said, “Are you the one who thinks he is the Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Yes.” The man said, “O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are most beloved to Allah?” The Prophet said, “Faith in Allah.” The man said, “Then what?” The Prophet said, “To maintain family relationships.” The man said, “O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are most hateful to Allah?” The Prophet said, “To associate idols with Allah.” The man said, “Then what?” The Prophet said, “To sever family relationships.” The man said, “Then what?” The Prophet said, “To enjoin evil and forbid good.” (Musnad Abī Ya’lá 6793 )
