Rev. James Smith, Jr. Charity Christian Community Church was established as a religious non-profit organization on July 27, 2012. The building and property was purchased by its’ founding Pastor, Rev. Vernell Stornes with the support of his wife Sis. Gwendolyn Stornes. The inaugural service was held on July 29, 2012. Our
day of Pentecost occurred on August 12, 2012, when 21 people were added to the church role as members with Christian experience. We also added one new member who accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior during that great Sunday morning service. We had our first baptism on the morning of September 9, 2012 when Sis. Breanna Bufford and Sis. Keyonna Stornes were baptized. Since the establishment of this church, we have gained 56 members and we have a ministerial staff of five ministers: Rev. Essie Cole, Min. Joslyn Guffin, Rev. Sterling Robinson (passed on May 24, 2013), Min. Jackie Cole and Rev. In April we established Children’s Church for the young children to learn more about God. We have currently done remodeling on the church by adding a kitchen, closets, office and painted the church walls…and we are still anticipating more changes in the future for Charity Church
Our mission at Charity Christian Community Church is to Praise and Worship the Lord and to demonstrate the Love of God to all we encounter by teaching and sharing the Gospel of Christ in our homes (Jerusalem), our community (Judea and Samaria) and everywhere we go (uttermost part of the earth), as Jesus directed His disciples in Act 1:8
