Congo Connect is TONIGHT, Friday August 28, from 6-7:30pm and our theme for the evening is "Feeling the Heat"! 🔥

Heat evokes many different feelings and images... there's the literal heat we've been experiencing this summer, and also the emotional heat of love/passion/anger/conflict. Through guided activities and storytelling prompts, we'll explore these many dimensions of heat together.

Congo Connect is a great place to get to know other First Congo folks (and maybe even yourself) a little deeper. Join us in the sanctuary!

There was a time when folks would get together and talk mostly about their hobbies and interests. They might talk mainly about their families, their romances, or their latest adventures. Now, more and more, it seems that when we get together, there's one topic at top of mind: our particular gloss on just how bad things are in the world. This Sunday we gathered to talk about 'thinking' as a spiritually formative act, and we considered an ancient technology that might help us be prepared to greet a challenged world with energy, rather than run ourselves ragged forecasting its end. Check out Pastor Tony's sermon and the full worship recording, linked below.

We’ve been seeing big numbers at our weekly Food Pantry! Last Wednesday 144 guests came through to shop for groceries, and this week we had 136. The shelves are looking sparse now, and we need help restocking them by next Wednesday.

If you are able to donate any canned goods or shelf-stable foods over the next few days, every bit helps! You can swipe through here to see our most needed items and more info about the ways you can donate food and/or funds.

Please spread the word if you can. THANK YOU for helping us feed our community!!
