With the semester just ten days away we are still looking for a few more cooks or those willing to donate for our Sunday brunches. If you are able please prayerfully consider.

At our Diocese’s Catholic Student Center, 3625 Mynders Ave., University of Memphis, our Catholic Campus Ministry offers Sunday Brunch at Noon during the School Year for all College Students.

Today, July 31, is the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. St. Ignatius lived a life of great adventure as a brave soldier before a very bad battle injury left him bed-ridden, which led to his radical conversion.

In 1534, he founded the Society of Jesus, also known as the Jesuits, with the goal of promoting education, evangelization and social justice. He wrote the famous text, "The Spiritual Exercises," which remains influential to this day.

St. Ignatius died in Rome in 1556 and was canonized in 1622. St. Ignatius, Patron of Soldiers, please pray for us!

Meet FOCUS Missionary, Krista Wegerer!

Krista is a 2nd year missionary and we are so excited to have her at the UofM this year! She graduated from Emporia State University where she studied Art Education.

Some fun facts about Krista is that she loves oil painting, scrapbooking, her favorite dessert is dark chocolate with raspberries, she loves the color light yellow, and her favorite musician is Ben Rector.

Meet FOCUS Missionary, Gray Carpenter!

Gray is a 1st year missionary from Kansas City, Go Chiefs! He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Criminology.

Some fun facts about Gray is that he has been Catholic for just 4 months (swipe to see a picture of his Baptism at Easter!), his favorite band is Metallica, and his favorite sport to play is basketball.

Emily is a third-year missionary and a Memphis native! She was an Alpha Gam the University of Memphis (go tigers & go gam!) where she studied Child Development & Family Studies.
