Word on Wednesday
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter5:7 NIV
To “cast”means to throw, to release fully, to shift the weight off of you onto God. It conveys an action being done with force or intent. Life can bring about challenges, questions and unexpected turns, but we serve a God who cares about every detail of our lives. Nothing is too big for His power and nothing is too small for His concern.
My Life Application Study Bible says, “Carrying your worries, stresses, and daily struggles by yourself shows that you have not trusted God fully with your life. It takes humility to recognize that God cares, to admit your need, and to let Him help you. Letting God have your anxieties calls for action, not passivity. Don’t submit to circumstances, but to the Lord who controls circumstances.”
CASTING YOUR CARES ON HIM MEANS:
1. Releasing it in prayer- this is where you verbally give it to God. Example, “Lord I can’t carry this anymore I give this to you.”
2. Refuse to claim it in your mind (the hardest place) - even after praying , the minds tries to pick it back up. So, redirect your thoughts back to Gods promises. And choose trust over replaying worry.
3. Move forward in your actions - stop trying to control what you gave to God. You move forward in trust even without all the answers or any answers.
Today, don’t carry the burdens that God is willing to carry for you. Take a moment to pray, release your worries, and trust Him with what’s on your heart. God is inviting us to something deeper: true release.
What are you holding on to that God is asking you to cast on Him today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for caring about every concern we have. Help us to trust you more and surrender our worries into your hands. Give us peace that only You can provide.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Have a peaceful Wednesday, Grace Church family 💙
