This Sunday took an unexpected turn when Pastor Alex got sick at the last minute, but the timing was pretty impeccable.

Just one week after talking about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the power He gives believers, Pastor Jacob stepped in at the last minute and walked our church through a message on spiritual gifts.

Looking at passages like 1 Corinthians 12 and Ephesians 4, we explored how the same Spirit who fills us also equips us, giving every believer unique gifts to strengthen the Church and serve others. If you’ve ever wondered how God has wired you for ministry, this message is for you.

This Sunday, we watched people respond with open hearts, lifted hands, bold faith, and a genuine hunger for more of God. Some encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit in brand new ways, while others were reminded that Christianity was never meant to be lived powerless.

Today, and all week, we’re praying for the friends and family of Mandy. She was very loved by many at Overflow Church❤️

It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of one of our own, Ms. Amanda "Mandy" Sullivan. A graduate of the West Carroll Class of 1995, Mandy returned home to teach and always gave back to the students and school that shaped her.
Mandy was loved by faculty, staff, and students alike. Her constant positive attitude and high expectations were an anchor in the middle school hallway and throughout our entire school.
Please keep the Sullivan family, along with our community and her school family, in your thoughts and prayers. She will be deeply missed.

A word from God for you today: You’re not too far gone. God’s not done with you. He loves you despite your most weak or embarrassing moments. He’s available right now.

A few weeks ago, Pastor Samantha Gallien shared this beautiful story of one of the first times she truly encountered the love and presence of God and reminded us that His mercy still meets people in the middle of shame, regret, and brokenness today.

Summer Groups are officially in full swing and we’ve already loved week one heading into week two. From pickleball to Chicago ball, running club to disc golf, swim aerobics to single moms groups, there’s been a whole lot of laughs, community, memories, and maybe a little healthy competition too😅☀️
