Every patch tells a story, and together they paint a beautiful picture of Eva’s journey through the years 💛

Though Eva and her family have only been with our church for a year, they have already become such a treasured part of our church family. As the oldest daughter of Pastor Rusty and Elisabeth Johnston, Eva has shown what it means to lead with heart, serve with joy, and stay committed to something meaningful.

One of Eva’s greatest accomplishments has been earning the Stars & Stripes Award through American Heritage Girls—the highest and most prestigious honor in the organization. This award is not simply given; it is earned through years of dedication, leadership, service, faith, hard work, and perseverance. Only girls who truly demonstrate commitment to God, family, community, and country achieve this level, making it an incredible milestone to celebrate.

Her completed OCTO-SWING project at Elkhorn Valley Youth Camp in Bergholz, Ohio is just one example of the servant heart and leadership that helped her earn this distinguished award—something that will bless campers, families, and volunteers for years to come.

Every patch represents effort. Every step shows perseverance. And every moment reflects a young woman growing into who God has called her to be.

Eva is graduating high school from Wesleyan Heritage Classical School 🎓 and will be pursuing enrollment at Sight & Sound Conservatory in Pennsylvania with a major in Theater.

Eva, we are so proud of you. Your church family is cheering you on—today and in all the exciting steps ahead! 🙌

What did Jesus really mean when He said He came to fulfill the law—not destroy it? In this week’s message from Gospel of Matthew 5:17, we take a fresh look at how Jesus brings clarity, purpose, and heart to God’s commands. It’s not just about rules—it’s about transformation from the inside out. Don’t miss this powerful reminder of what the law was always meant to point us toward. Mother’s Day: A Celebration of Women Who Love, Nurture, and Guide

Friendship, laughter, and joyful hearts—such beautiful reminders of God’s goodness 💛

This Sunday, we celebrate not only moms, but all the incredible women who nurture, guide, and love—grandmothers, stepmoms, adoptive and foster moms, aunts, mentors, teachers, and spiritual mothers.

We also hold space for those with tender hearts—those who have lost a child, long to be a mother, or carry quiet grief. You are seen, loved, and not alone.

Come celebrate the women in our lives with us. 💛 Join us this Sunday morning—we’d love to welcome you!

A woman was running late for work… and everything showed it.

She was speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, and shouting a few choice words out the window at anyone slowing her down.

Suddenly—flashing lights filled her rearview mirror.

When the police officer pulled her over, he stepped out with caution—drawing his weapon and instructing her to step out of the car, hands up, walking backward toward him. He placed her in handcuffs.

Confused, she finally asked, “What have I done to deserve this? I was just speeding!”

The officer replied, “Ma’am, I was going to give you a simple ticket… until I saw your bumper sticker that said your husband is a pastor—and the Christian symbol on your car. After hearing the words coming out of your mouth, I assumed the car must have been stolen.”

That story makes us smile… but it also makes us think.

Do our words and actions reflect the faith we claim?

This past Sunday, Pastor Rusty took us into Book of Exodus 20:7: “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain…”

It’s not just about what we say—it’s about how we live and represent Him every day.

We were so blessed to take a moment to recognize Elisabeth Johnston, Pastor Rusty’s wife, for Pastor’s Wife Appreciation Month. Yes… we know March has come and gone—but as they say, better late than never! And someone as special as Elisabeth is definitely worth celebrating any time of year.

Elisabeth has such a sweet, visible love for Christ that truly shines. With a gentle, humble spirit, her kindness, encouragement, and steady faith are a blessing to all who know her. She faithfully supports Pastor Rusty in their shared ministry to our church, while also pouring love, wisdom, and care into her family and the faith-filled projects close to her heart.

Elisabeth, thank you for the way you live out your faith so beautifully. You are a true gift to our church family, and we are so grateful for you 💛

Pastor Rusty’s message, “10 Commandments Part 1,” from Book of Exodus 20:1–3, reminds us that after 400 years in slavery, the Israelites knew of God but didn’t truly know Him. In Book of Exodus 19, they were called to prepare because God Himself was coming near.

The first commandment—“You shall have no other gods before Me”—is not just a rule, but a call to relationship. God reveals Himself as “I am… your God.” Pastor Rusty challenges us to ask: Do we truly know God personally, or just know about Him?

🍕🥎⚾ A Little Pizza + A Lot of Love! ⚾🥎🍕

Last Thursday, our church had the joy of delivering pizza and homemade desserts to our high school baseball and softball teams for their team dinner—and let’s just say, it was a sweet success! 😊

There’s something special about sharing a simple meal and cheering on these hardworking students who give their all out on the field. From warm slices of pizza to homemade treats made with love, it was our way of saying we see you, we support you, and we’re rooting for you!

Wishing both teams a fantastic season—play hard, have fun, and know McConnelsville Methodist Church and your community is behind you every step of the way! 💛
