Main Street Church of Christ, Mcconnelsville, Ohio

Main Street Church of Christ, Mcconnelsville, Ohio A NON-DENOMINATIONAL, NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. His birth was divine. (John 14:1-3) THE CHURCH is His Body.

His life reveals God’s will for us; and is our example. He died for our sins, and rose again to become our living Savior. He ascended to heaven from which we confidently expect His Personal Return at any time, as He promised. It was divinely established. It is commissioned of Christ to go and tell “the good News” to the whole creation. Christ is the Head of the Church. Division of His body is sin

ful, and hinders evangelism. MEMBERS are added to the Church (His Body, Family, Kingdom) by Christ only if they meet His terms of admission, which is God’s way to become a Christian:
1. By Hearing the Good News and Believing it by Faith-Acts 16:30-31; Romans 10:17
2. By Repenting (turning and forsaking sin): Acts 2:38; 17:30
3. By Confession: Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 10:32
4. By Baptism (burial in water): Acts 2:38, 41; 8:35-39; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12

BAPTISM is for believers only. It is an immersion in water for the forgiveness of sins. We rise from the water to walk in newness of life as a born again believer. John 3:5

THE COMMUNION is an act of worship. It is a meeting of believers to keep the blood covenant until Christ’s return. It is a memorial of Christ’s death for our sins, and is observed every Lord’s Day. Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:32-34

THE BIBLE IS GOD'S WORD and is our absolute Authority. The New Testament is especially important for us, as it contains Christ’s teachings, the beginning of His Church, the divine instruction manual for a happy Christian life. It assures us of the ultimate victory of Christ and His Church. CHRISTIANS are meant to grow in character and strength. This is accomplished by:
1. A life of faith and service every day (also seen in church involvement).
2. Faithfulness to the Church.
3. Daily prayer and Bible reading which develop Christ like spirit that helps others to believe in and accept the Lord. A Daily Quiet Time is a must.
4. Separation from the world. AN INVITATION: If you are not a Christian, you may become such by obeying God’s plan of salvation. This obedience will make you a member of His Body (the Church). Christ invites you through us……. Will you accept Him today? WE INVITE any and all to attend our services, at which we will endeavor to faithfully preach God’s Word.

Welcome to another Monday Minute! What comes to your mind when you think of leadership?

Did you know that God has made you to lead?
If you think about the leaders in your life, the best ones are often those who share their experiences and what they've
learned with others. Think about someone on social media who's taught you something new like a gamer showing you how to build a PC or someone sharing amazing makeup tips. They don’t have a fancy title, but they lead by sharing what they've experienced and know.

This is the type of leader Esther was. She had every reason to be scared when her people were in danger, but she used what she had experienced her courage, faith, and trust in her friends. You can lead like her, too by using what God has given you every day. Leadership isn't just about the big moments in history. It's about being consistent even when making small decisions. And everyone can do this, which means you're made to lead!

Welcome to today's Monday Minute!

Did you know that our eyes are strong enough to see a single candlelight from over a mile away in total darkness? Our eyes amazing things to be so powerful. But the secret to their strength is light. This week we are learning about what it means to be a light in someone else's life.

Jesus calls his followers to be lights in a dark world. Matthew 5:13-16 shows us that not only is Jesus our light, but we are called to light up the world around us. When you are far off, you might see the light but not what is around you. When you are close to the light, what is around you is clear.

Jesus has called each of us to be a light in the world through our words, actions, and our stories. You might think that your light is insignificant or that others' lights would be better suited. But Jesus didn't call someone else to be a light. Your faith journey can give people a real idea of what it means to follow Jesus. He called us all to be a light. You Were Made to be a Light!

Greetings everyone! It's time for another Monday Minute!

Have you ever wondered what you were made for? I think all of us have at one point or another. We all have wondered who we are, what makes us unique, and how we are supposed to make a difference in the world. You might feel as though your interests and talents are random or maybe even out of place. But the truth is that God created each of us with a purpose to do amazing things.

This past Sunday, our youth group learned about how We are Made to Know God. From music, sports, or even video games, we all have things we love to do. But we were created for more than just putting together the perfect playlist or cheering on our favorite sports teams.

God tells us in Genesis 1 that we were created in His image! He designed us with great detail and passion. He made a way for us to know Him deeply by sending His son Jesus to save us from our sins. It is through Jesus that we learn: We Were Made to Know God!

Have a great week and God bless!
