Main Street Church of Christ, Mcconnelsville, Ohio A NON-DENOMINATIONAL, NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. His birth was divine. (John 14:1-3) THE CHURCH is His Body.

His life reveals God’s will for us; and is our example. He died for our sins, and rose again to become our living Savior. He ascended to heaven from which we confidently expect His Personal Return at any time, as He promised. It was divinely established. It is commissioned of Christ to go and tell “the good News” to the whole creation. Christ is the Head of the Church. Division of His body is sinful, and hinders evangelism. MEMBERS are added to the Church (His Body, Family, Kingdom) by Christ only if they meet His terms of admission, which is God’s way to become a Christian:
1. By Hearing the Good News and Believing it by Faith-Acts 16:30-31; Romans 10:17
2. By Repenting (turning and forsaking sin): Acts 2:38; 17:30
3. By Confession: Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 10:32
4. By Baptism (burial in water): Acts 2:38, 41; 8:35-39; Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12

BAPTISM is for believers only. It is an immersion in water for the forgiveness of sins. We rise from the water to walk in newness of life as a born again believer. John 3:5

THE COMMUNION is an act of worship. It is a meeting of believers to keep the blood covenant until Christ’s return. It is a memorial of Christ’s death for our sins, and is observed every Lord’s Day. Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:32-34

THE BIBLE IS GOD'S WORD and is our absolute Authority. The New Testament is especially important for us, as it contains Christ’s teachings, the beginning of His Church, the divine instruction manual for a happy Christian life. It assures us of the ultimate victory of Christ and His Church. CHRISTIANS are meant to grow in character and strength. This is accomplished by:
1. A life of faith and service every day (also seen in church involvement).
2. Faithfulness to the Church.
3. Daily prayer and Bible reading which develop Christ like spirit that helps others to believe in and accept the Lord. A Daily Quiet Time is a must.
4. Separation from the world. AN INVITATION: If you are not a Christian, you may become such by obeying God’s plan of salvation. This obedience will make you a member of His Body (the Church). Christ invites you through us……. Will you accept Him today? WE INVITE any and all to attend our services, at which we will endeavor to faithfully preach God’s Word.

Have you seen this man? He’s wanted for encouraging our VBS kiddos to donate school supplies for our mission outreach this week! He is being sentenced to a water balloon attack tonight at the start of our carnival activities. Throughout the week, our kids collected $115 and 148 school supplies, and the girls came out on top in our competition with 160 donations. These supplies will be given to kids in our community to help with the back to school season. If you would like to help too, we will be continuing to collect donations until Sunday, August 2.

For our last regular night of VBS we had even more new friends, and we got to watch Detective Carll find the final clues...

For our last regular night of VBS we had even more new friends, and we got to watch Detective Carll find the final clues and solve his case! We learned about the parables of the lost sheep, coin, and prodigal son and learned that we can share our stories with others to show them love. Be sure to join us tonight for our closing carnival. There will be food, games, and prizes, and the whole family is invited to stay and join the fun. Any adult helpers available to run game stations, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Last night was our biggest night of VBS yet with even more new friends joining us! We learned about the parable of the Good Samaritan and spending time with others to show that we care. Join us tonight to solve our last case of the week, then tomorrow we’ll celebrate with our closing carnival and find out which of our lead detectives will win the missions challenge and which one will get soaked with water balloons!

We had a great first night of VBS with 18 kids learning about how to grow their faith by spending time with God! We challenged the kids to “sow some seeds” and invite friends to join us for the rest of the week. If they can double their number, there will be a special prize for everyone. You can help the kids meet this goal by inviting others to join us for the rest of the week on this exciting case!
