This summer Jason will be emailing all teen parents a devotional for families to do together. Today is the last day of school for McBain, so make some time this weekend to read and talk through this as a family. Start your summer with intention!
---------------------------------------
🏫 School’s Out… Now What?
📖 Bible Verse: “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31
🎙️ Devotional:
School is finally out. No homework. No tests. No alarms at 6am.
And honestly? Summer can feel awesome… but also dangerous spiritually. During the school year, life has structure. Summer can become sleeping all day, endless scrolling, boredom, wasting time, drifting from God without even noticing.
The truth is: freedom is a gift, but freedom without purpose usually leads nowhere. God doesn’t want us to waste our summer. He wants us to grow in it.
Summer is a chance to make memories, deepen friendships, rest, laugh, serve people, and grow closer to Jesus. You don’t need to spend five hours reading the Bible every day to have a meaningful summer with God. But imagine what could happen if your family gave God even a few intentional minutes each day.
This summer could actually change your family.
Not because you became perfect, but because you stayed connected to Jesus.
đź’ Questions:
What are you most excited about this summer?
What usually distracts you most from God during summer?
What is one thing you want to grow in spiritually this summer?
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Challenge: As a family, make one “Summer With Purpose” goal. Examples:
Pray together once a week
Serve someone together
Spend less screen time at meals
Attend church consistently
Read one book of the Bible together
What are you going to do to make this a summer of spiritual growth together as a family?
